Any plans for the GG(s)?

We've already settled the first one in Ganymede. We considered saving it for giving ten draftees a combat 1 promotion, but
  1. We wanted a 5xp war chariot from Gany for sentry duty.
  2. We wanted the 3bpt immediately.
  3. Our second GG can do the xp spreading. It's most effective on an injured stack that can then heal on the promotions.
  4. Settling the GG is our preferred long term option. Ganymede will get the Heroic Epic soon, and we don't need a super-healer for our defensive war.

Save's in. I opened it, and Mackoti's offering us 1 gold for peace.

Are we allowed to close the offer, inspect the situation, and reopen the save to accept the offer?

I'd decline it I think.

Of course.

Ok. Yuri declared on Sian, and Luddicator took another Fierce city and have a blooming economy. Signing peace will have geopolitical repercussions.

Seven, could you expand on your thoughts?

Oh, here's an interesting development:

Yuri must *really* trust us.

PBEM20 spoiler:
We saw this in PBEM20 too, where Yuri walked his great merchant into Krill's land.

Why even take the risk though, it's not hard to send the merchant in without giving us time to attack it.

If mackoti were to secure peace on this border then he could potentially go rampaging on the other. Plus he would be able to reconnect his fish.

It looks like Yuri's cataphracts have all gone north, so you have one border fairly secure.

OK, it sounds like we're declining the offer. Luddicator taking a beating wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing though. They've been allowed to recover in peace from their earlier overexpansion.

Signing peace with Mackoti this turn could make Yuri uneasy, and cause him to divert his 'phracts towards us. Hopefully he'll meet bloody resistance in Sian's lands instead. I still can't believe that Yuri's defending his cities with single warriors, and parading a great merchant on our border though. It feels wrong somehow to not punish that. OTOH, Luddicator has a lot of weakly defended coastal cities. smile

The main domestic reason for declining Mackoti's offer though is that we've already made the sacrifice and built up our military. Now we'd like to spend the units too. And Mackoti didn't build any more knights this turn, he's still at 27 knights.

What we need to watch out for though is Mackoti continuing his buildup to the extent that we can't adopt bureaucracy and caste system on t102. But frankly, even if he whips another round of knights I think we can handle it with our current forces, at least if we draft on t100-102.
