[SPOILERS] Dazed and scooter play Stalin of Vikings and make a big mess

I really would like to know what I'm missing here. I'm doing literally everything I can to broadcast the message that I'm not able to and interested in winning, and I'm willing to play mini-kingmaker in the interest of having fun, and despite that the only two people who can win seem totally uninterested in recruiting me to hurt the other guy? I just don't follow. Krill is fighting Azza right now, what motivation does he have to reject peace with me? I really, really don't get that one.

Hrm, what? Krill did accept peace. I guess he had the dialog open for a long time...

Basically, I offered him peace. Little bit later I saw him login. I popped in 10 mins after he logged in, still at war... So I left. Popped back in just now and he did accept. Well alright then. Complaint redacted.

Oh geez. Nakor gave Krill Replaceable Parts. Prepare yourself for incineration, Nakor.

Should I just go ahead and declare on everybody? That could be genuinely fun.

The Viking part of you yearns to be at war with everyone at all times. But the Stalin part of you knows you can kill more people if you're only at war with those you can boat and rifle quickly. hammer

You must choose the manner in which you burn the world for yourself, as every warmonger must.

Edit: so this is what your thread title has been foreshadowing all this time! lol Go forth and make a mess, Stalin of Vikings.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

I think you should do whatever makes the game most exciting for you while still trying to win, whatever chance you have. I am greatly enjoying your thread by the way.

At this point I kind of like the idea of keeping people guessing, both lurkers and players. I already know what I'm going to do despite my joking here. I'm not even sure how effective any war will be from me because tech trading meant these techs are just getting passed around like candy and everyone beat me to Astronomy, and I'm pretty sure Rifling will get passed around very soon after.

And yes, my thread title has turned out to be oddly appropriate even though it had no serious meaning when I made it. lol

That's pretty much the plan, yep. I'm genuinely seeking to better my position. And thanks, glad you're enjoying it. Fun game for sure.

Ok, update on things and whatnot - T214-215. 214 first. So this is going to be annoying:

Stupid great generals. Stupid gunpowder too. Brick maybe trying to sneak a settler?

That galley will not be leaving the city. Also, after playing turn I saw Rego:

So I promptly declared war. Onto T215, I feel bad about the off-handed comment I made about them probably double-moving. Well, it wasn't a very serious comment, but still:

He did indeed leave the galley. I have no idea where that Oromo went to though. Really confused about that one. It really looks like he deleted it actually. Anyways, while I besiege Brick, I landed on his western side:

Need to pick off these cities so he doesn't exploit them for more units. That settler seems to be confirmation he was going to try to sneak one out. Anyways, somehow the screenshot didn't take, but I did raze Poison Ivy. I didn't keep it (more so I don't have to defend from Krill than anything, but I'll keep the rest most likely. Final result of the western cleanup operation:

Those two cities should fall the next two turns. Anyways, I doubled my work force here:

I'm being pretty close to literal here. I had 7 workers before this attack, 2 of which were built in the last dozen turns. Fun. Anyways, these are the kind of odds that dang Musket gives me:

Granted, that's with one of my weaker CR1 Rifles, but still... Gross. Anyways, the elite units should be healed at the end of this turn, so I'll go get them next.

Is that a barb city to the west of Brick?
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Ha, yeah, it sure does look like it. I missed that one. Good eyes.

BURNINATION!!!!

Will this be enough to bring Dazed out of PB5-retirement? lol
