I think we're the fastest techers, but it's not insane yet.
At break even (60%) we make 47bpt (before pre-req modifiers) and we can research Currency in 10 turns and Code of Laws in 9 turns. So I think a tech path of Sailing->Currency->Code of Laws should work well, given that we're 21 turns from our next prophet. We should aim to balance our improved research capabilities with increased maintenance from new cities.

Another thing to consider is whether to adopt Organized Religion. I'm not particularly keen on a turn of anarchy, so I'm inclined to wait 22 turns and double-revolt to Organized Religion and Bureaucracy. I'm mentioning it though, as we haven't really discussed it. Also we need to adopt Christianity at some point.

Incidentally, there is a lot of whip anger still in Big Slick. Do we want to whip it? With the ivory and silver, we'll have three more happy faces that we can grow into (although I concede that will also help with any more whip anger). We can use a worker build to wait for developed tiles to be ready.

No, but we've got lots of cottageable tiles to grow into. Go financial!

With a 97% chance, cough.

I wondered when you might mention new cities. Where do you want to settle next? The wheat/cows hill site?

Yeah, given that we'll be building a lot of spears/axes, workers and settlers we won't feel the full benefit of OR just yet, not least because we need to build a load of missionaries.

As long as it's working crap tiles such as the lakes, I'd say yes. The idea behind the library was to whip away three population for one unhappy. Then grow as much as possible, and if we run out of improved tiles, work scientists (just don't overtake Pocket Bullets in GPP).

Or we can whip a worker and grow while building the library.

Ok, some relatively unscary barb action this turn. Firstly, on the other side of the world, our intrepid warrior met up with a barb as I decided to hug ad hoc's borders. Fingers crossed.
Closer to home, a warrior turned up near our other warrior. I saved hiim for our axes as our warrior continued on his way to Ruff's coastline.
Also, your plan for a one-turn warrior met a snag. Hunting. I sent the axe anyway since Sailing is due soon. Recall him if you wish. A spear could be whipped soon anyway.

![duh duh](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/duh.gif) I always forget about that one. Good call sending the Axe anyway.

Christianity was spread to Pocket Bullets which, having completed an axe, started building a temple, to be whipped next turn.
I sent the new axe towards Sailboats to cover the barb warrior if it heads NW. The now-healed axe that was near Sailboats I moved to NFD - it can cover the gold if the warrior heads SW.
Some fun graphs for the lurkers.
Firstly, GNP:
Secondly, power:
Please see Ruff's thread for more information on his details. Ok, we could work them out from the demographics, but we don't do that any more.
