Well then, I'm afraid there's nothing particularly juicy going on in this update :-(
Scouting went without event, positive or negative. Paul Scholes has made his last eastward scouting move for now, as he will now begin to retreat to keep an eye on copper city spot.
I'm hoping Ryan Giggs will find some more juicy spots or maybe a neighbour soon, just so I can spice my reports up again!
Inside Cha Cha Cha
This is now 'supposedly' the worst capital in the game according to the 'Top 5 Cities' tab. No fair! Everyone seems to be growing their cities now, likely focussing on military and scouting now, after workers (poss settlers) unlike me who did it the other way around.
Well worker 2 in 5 turns, and Mysticism in 3 and the next BIG decision. Worker Two will probably go straight to chopping out my first settler. I should have the silver mine up soon and then its on to a deer camp.
Sorry there's nothing eventful (positively anyway) going on right now, but hopefully I can grab your interest again soon! I'll show the game that dares to say my capital is the worst!

Well now I've remembered what turn I'm on (if anyone noticed my error in my last post), here is the latest update, which is a bit nicer.
The big news is that the silver mine is now complete, and the 1F,2H,6C tile is worked straight away. It builds the worker at the same speed as the 3H forest plains hill, and my GNP has gone from sixth to third straight away ![yikes yikes](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/yikes.gif) . This means that I will finish Mysticism at turn 21 with quite a large overflow into Polytheism/Pottery.
With that in mind, lets now look at my (no longer last-placed) capital.
I will send Josiah Bartlet towards a forest to chop, as he should reach the forest to chop just as Leo McGarry is completed and he shall head straight to the deer to make a camp.
For scouting news, Paul Scholes is now heading back towards Copper City site to ward off any unwanted animal. Ryan Giggs will soon begin going south to fogbust the area that Scholes didn't reach and then continue to circle around until killed or there is nothing left to find.
Hopefully I will still have Ryan Giggs to make these plans soon, as after I ended turn, an angry lion appeared next to him ![yikes yikes](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/yikes.gif) . Luckily, he is currently on a forested plains hill so he shall fortify next turn to see if he can weather the attack.
Well that's all for this turn, hopefully it will entice some lurker comments *hangs head in shame of shameless plug!*

Is this the end of Ryan Giggs? Or will he fight on to play another season?? Haha, I hope your chances are better...

Well the game is no longer a teenager and as we saw at the end of the last turn, it is finally threatening my units with barbarian animals.
As I indicated, I fortified Ryan Giggs on the forest hill to prepare for the vicious and unprovoked attack by the evil lion. You shall have to wait for the end of the turn report to see if he survived....
Paul Scholes continued on his merry way back towards copper city site, not hindered by any barbarian animals just yet.

Inside Cha Cha Cha
Josiah Bartlet has changed plans again and has moved into the forest 2N of the city, ready to start chopping next turn. His chop will finish the turn after Leo McGarry is completed and will feed into the settler. He can then move straight on to working on the deer without wasting a turn.

End Of Turn News
Well first of all: [SIZE="2"]RYAN GIGGS LIVES!!![/SIZE]
He was barely scratched by the lion, so will carry on scouting straight away.
Secondly, Mysticism was completed and Hinduism did not fall by the looks of it. Looking at the research bar at the top, I can get Polytheism in four turns and Pottery in three. With this in mind, I am definitely heading for Polytheism next to have a rush at Hinduism. Fingers crossed and thanks for the silver mine!
That's all for now, enjoy!

That's a good chance for some free XPs right there ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif) .
If I might make a small suggestion, its usually a good idea to plan your Worker moves well in advance at this early stage in the game. You ideally want to time actions to coincide with city growth so you can avoid working tiles that lack improvements.

@Darrell: believe me I've been thinking a lot about it, but i've been a bit confused about chops etc.
I've been trying to figure out a bit of a micromanaging plan like Spulla's (though I have a lot less experience of it).
In terms of workers, this is the plan now:
Turn 20 - Josiah Bartlet moves NE, Leo McGarry 3t (22/40) - Mysticism 1t
Turn 21 - JB starts chop (3t), LM 2t (29/40) - Polytheism 4t
Turn 22 - JB chop (2t), LM 1t (36/40) - Polytheism 3t
Turn 23 - JB Chop (1t - done), LM moves S,S - Settler (20/65) - Polytheism 2t
Turn 24 - JB Move W (Deer) , LM start chop (3t) - Settler (26/65) - Polytheism 1t
Turn 25 - JB Camp (3t), LM chop (2t) - Settler (32/65) - Pottery 4t
Turn 26 - JB Camp (2t), LM chop (1t-done) - Settler (51/65) - Pottery 3t
Turn 27 - JB Camp (1t-done), LM move NE Road (2t) - Settler (59/65) - Pottery 2t
Turn 28 - JB Move SE, SW, LM Road (1t done) - Settler (67/65) - Pottery 1t
Now I am hoping those are correct but they seem OK after a few trials.
Once Settler is complete I shall likely set JB to building a cottage at Cha Cha Cha for when it starts growing towards size 3.
One question for lurkers:
Why does the game say it will take 4 turns to research Polytheism when (according to maths) I will be one beaker short of completion?
15 beakers per turn.
Turn 20 - + 15 - Mysticism 39/43
Turn 21 - 11b overflow + 15 = 26/87 - 4t
Turn 22 - + 15 = 41/87 - 3t
Turn 23 - + 15 = 56/87 - 2t
Turn 24 - + 15 = 71/87 - 1t
Turn 25 - + 15 = 86/87 - complete?
My best guess is that I will end up with a 1 beaker deficit rather than a surplus for the next turn?

Are you counting the 1.2 prerequisite multiplier for knowing Mysticism? Also there is a devaluation multiplier if any civ you have contacted knows the tech.

Well there is no contact with anyone yet so we can rule that out. I was only using the total beakers noted from the Tech Advisor tab, and the beakers per turn from the city screen.
I took the info from after the turn ended, so I would also imagine that the pre-requisite bonus is already added also. Its the fact that it is 1 beaker short which confuses me and I can't see where it's come from.

If your screen says 15 bpt (and it does as I see it up-thread), you'll actually put in 19 beakers towards Poly each turn
First 15 + 1 (you get a free beaker per turn even if you're on 100% gold)
then 16 * 1.2 = 19.2 (you get a 1.2 pre-req for knowing Mysticism)
Rounded down to 19.

I never knew that - that explains things a lot better.
Thanks Rego!
