SG3-Monarch Can't Hold Me!

My set is done.

T50:
Switched UP onto a monument as this is a priority for the fish. Switched Glutton onto a warrior to grow onto it's third food resource.

T51:

Apparently we're not very powerful

Demo's show there are only 7 civs so this should be a 'large' map. Chopped into the monument for UP.

We also met a workboat of Cyrus'

Notice our new city of Tyr! Found another rice to use for it so very happy we gambled on the two city split now. Unfortunately, we seem to be on a bit of a peninsula up north and Mansa could soon box us in with the little land we;ve found so far.

You may notice the barbarian archer that appeared. Super. I held off on promoting the warrior in Tyr until the last moment.

T52:

Archer retreated thankfully. He actually kept retreating and then re-appearing for the entire set. I moved our workers to prioritise chopping tiles that are riverside grassland/hill and completed our intial roads.

T53:

UP used overflow to finish the barracks. Glutton grew.

T54:

UP onto an axeman. Glutton onto another settler.

T55:

Choppity chop chop for settler.

T56/7: Nada interesting.

T58:

UP completes the axeman and goes onto workboat ready for the border pop. GLutton goes onto a worker and settler/worker moves towards gold spot with an escort. Axeman moves towards removing that frigging archer.

T59:

Whip monument in Tyr and go onto granary. We need to begin working cottages en-masse at Glutton. Tech is set to hunting for the ivory for happiness. I reccomend you priorise the cottages.

We began to work our first:

At some point, Cyrus converted to Mansa's religion- hinduism. Hopefully it gets spread to us also.

EDIT: Save:

Nice turns.

What about an aggressive city placement to the west of Tyr? There is lots of grassland there and it would probably help us avoid being boxed in by Mansa in the south. If we place there, we have all the time in the world to backfill around the capital I would think. Maybe on that fogged tile north of the fogged lake tile?

Looks good!
I like the plan of settling west of Tyr to grab more land and later backfill.
How is our economy doing?

Uh, who's up? Twinkletoes?

Have any idea when you'll be able to play?

Yeah, it is TT. He never gave his "Got it" and Kyan posted almost 48 hours ago.

If TT doesn't give a got it by the time I get home from skydiving this afternoon, I will grab it and play.

'Got it' guys! Anything definitely planned or is it just play the 10 turns as best I can?

We want to settle more, so try to get a couple settlers. Decide if you think we can aggressively settle west of our southern city to land grab near Mansa.

It is also time for wholesale cottaging at the capital I think.

Ok guys, turnset done.

T60 - Changed Gluttonville to Settler

T61 - nada

T62 - Settled 'Carthage' (will leave the renaming to others!) at Eastern Copper,Gold & Rice spot. Workers starting to attach Carthage & Tyr to road network.

T63 - Fish hooked up at UP - onto Granary.

T64 & 65 - still roading

T66 - Tyr connected to network

T67 - Settler out of Gluttonville. Carthage hooked up to road network

T68 - Granary complete at UP -> onto worker. Hinduism spread to Tyr, converted straight away. Workers start moving back from Carthage (Rice & Copper hooked up)

T69 - Hunting in. TT's Gambit settled W of Tyr.

Here is the overview of our empire.

I put TT's Gambit off the hill as we have an Axeman to defend it plus we will need the hills for production. I have put research onto Archery atm but its only on 0% at the minute so you can swap it if you need to.

Gluttonville is now working 2 cottages and a mine while it is building the Granary. UP should probably build another worker after this one to be on improvement patrol at UP & Gluttonville (or go to hook up Gold at Carthage when borders pop).

We need to improve our military now, getting a few axes out for defending Tyr & TT's Gambit. We probably need to look at Masonry to hook up the Marble in the not too distant future.

Hope I've done OK!

Nice turnset! I agree with your gamble, TT! I don't think we can settle more cities at the moment, since our economy is crashing.
Though it would be interesting to settle near the stone (NE) as well if we go Masonry and try to get some good wonders...

Time for some infra, worker actions and more miltary in the next turnsets...

Yeah, gambit was good; of course, now we just need to make sure we don't die doing it! I would say we need AT LEAST 2 or 3 more workers, because cottages will be our savior with all this grassland.

We should also consider building axes to scout the NE and SE peninsulas, and fogbust there a bit.
