Looks like my running away plan won't work out, Adlain settled a city to the East of my settler and now has a HA nearby that could kill it. There's no way I can slip a settler East without someone finding out about it. I thought rego had talked to Adlain already but it appears not. I'm hoping I can sort things out with him as my life quite literally depends on it.
Anyway, plako still couldn't take Sparta this turn so I held off the settling (and naming) for now.

Atlantis.
Or any Greek colony city, really. Massalia, Messene, Rhegium, Syracuse, Cyrene, Emporion, Chersonesos, Byzantion, Theodosia, Trapezus, Sinope. There are literally hundreds of options there. Or since you're fleeing east Heraclea > Sinope > Trapezus seems appropriate, switching to northern Black Sea colonies if you go north. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en...lonies.PNG
Of course this all may be moot soon....

These two are both excellent suggestions. Although as much as Atlantis fits in with my civ, I can't turn down a Matrix reference:
So now plako knows. Now I wonder how long it'll take for him to find me?
In other news, plako still can't take Sparta this turn. What is he busy doing? He has a large enough army.

Well, plako came calling for a chat, and given that he was understandably pissed and I just want to get this game over with I decided that I've had enough, so I told him where my city was:
Quote:plako: hi
me: hey
plako: I see you planted another city. I'm alright with it assuming you grant me peace
Is that happening?
19:09 I guess Rego let you through
Just to let you know he was very actively joining with me in the war
19:10 I just didnät want him in
So he probably decided to screw me over
me: well, you've captured the majority of my cities anyway, so I don't see why I should sign peace at all
plako: I van send you emails
Well that is pretty sad play to lay OCC just to screw someone
19:11 I won legitimately
me: well, if i didn't plant the city, i'd be dead in a few turns
plako: I didnät do any nasty tricks
or tried to fool you
I was honest
me: play to win, or play to survive. I'm currently playing to survive
plako: Now you're just helping Rego
19:12 I'll let Sparta live for eternal peace treaty
me: how am i helping rego?
plako: and no nasty tricks of course
Well overall all the others of course
19:13 But I guess Rego was the one letting you through
at least that was the threat he used
So he must be gaining something
19:14 Pretty silly really he threatened that unless I give your land to him he lets you through
After I gave it he still fulfilled the threat
19:17 So I give you 2 cities and eternal peace surely that is better survival than 1 city
me: sorry, im doing several things at once, just give me a minute
19:19 eternal peace isn't really in my interest, I have zero chance of staying relevant and given my RL situation it's probably better for me to be eliminated
plako: So you prefer OCC just to screw me
Nice one
19:20 me: however, i also kinda want this to be over now that ive done all the tricks
so ill tell you where my city is
plako: thx
19:21 me: its not on the other side of rego, its just on the other side of the lake
plako: ah ok. I barked the wrong tree then.
I'm glad I didn't finish my angry letter to him
19:22 So Adlain let you settle there?
me: anyway, now you'll definately eliminate me, so I might as well say GG to you, it was inevitable given my start and your subsequent capture of sparta
no, its halfway between rego and adlain
plako: thank you for taking over.
19:23 Previosu owners weren't up their task
You did a good job
and even surpassed some of the other natiosn despite of losing a key city
19:24 me: well, i reckon i did alright also, although you pretty much have to play a perfect game from behind and i made some mistakes
19:25 plako: yeah. Learning experience also ;-). I bet you won't left forested hills available in next game.
me: yeah, i completely missed that for some reason...
19:26 plako: Warring is very complex and when you're behind it also affects to the intrest level and amount of time
you want to invest
19:27 me: anyway, i gtg, so i'll talk to you later
plako: yeah. and Tahnk you for being good sport
Much appreciated
19:28 me: np
And now that plako knows where I am, I'm just waiting for him to come and eliminate me. Sorry everyone for not holding out longer, but now that I've had my fun planting a city on the other side of the map there's very little left in this game for me.
