[SPOILERS] Lurker discussion thread ... players keep out obviously

Doh. duh

Forgot about the iron (and didn't know that thing about ritualists).
Still hoping they can pull something off (can Beasts be cash-rushed? The population loss will be painful while in Conquest, but I guess they can always swap out to recover).

Beasts can be cash/pop rushed (under the appropriate civics). The pop loss hurts, but can be regained by building something other than military units in the cities that build them (either infra or Wealth/Research).

Can't win by tower anymore, can't use the ToD to get a late era tech, can't tech, and have a huge army.

Nice to have a suspicion confirmed. Is he in Military State?

I'm glad they didn't call the game; this looks like it's going to be good.

Sigh. It's a shame to see a long-running game like this devolve into a conflict between personalities rather than units.

Agreed. And part of the trouble are the complicated out-of-game-engine agreements that everyone has made.

The in-game-diplo style in PBEM 23 might be spartan, but at least there is no arguing there, since the game engine enforces all the treaties. Makes for less drama (and more double-guessing) all around.

Wow, I'm really glad Spectres got nerfed in EiB...

Given that most of the units actually fighting the spectres seem to be undead, demons and elementals I think EitB would actually have been a buff to the swarm. The Spectres would be S4 rather than S3.
