PBEM19 Organizing Thread

Well, my availability is 22:00 to 00:00 GMT, so that slots me right in with Ichabod. OTOH, being how new I am to Civ at all - let alone Civ multiplayer - I'm not averse to having GES take Ichabod's slot. I may be better served by watching how others play, if I want to learn - although I imagine the best way to learn is to play. smile

If you wanted to team up Roland, I have little doubt from playing WW together that you would be an active participant. lol

Oy! Why do I get the feeling that's a reflection upon my infamy, and not at all positive? wink

Teaming up does sound fun. I'll have to read this thread proper once I get off work tonight.

Well well well, do we have a Team Werewolf in the making? yikes

I would go with the short ban list GES suggested, fully banning Fin/Exp makes Cre the next best trait I think. But up to you guys

Once you add Ichabod as DL (and maybe draft in scooter too), it will be a full fledged WW3 reunion.

Be aware, GES, Ochabid doesn't forget...

Glad to have you aboard.

Okay, consensus seems to be no:
Pacal (Exp/Fin)
Sury (Exp/Cre)
William (Cre/Fin)
Lizzy (Phi/Fin)
India
Inca.

Beyond that, you're up MNG.

Roland/GES, any issues with map plans thus discussed? Gaspar, if you wanted a summary, thus far it's:
Small
Quick
Prince
Low sea level
Ice_Age Narrow Continents as initial base.
No huts
No random events
Normal barbs
All teams on same landmass (at least landbridged together).

I would just say Ice Age wouldn't be nearly my first choice. I would vote for something that is very food heavy and fertile to encourage growth since PBEMs feel like they take forever to get started anyway.

Well, it requires a few more rerolls to get a similar landform, but Archi/Snakey/Low Sea level also gets the same kind of effect. I've seen fairly fertile Ice starts, but it was more the landform that I liked than the climate.

Archipelago can bring in some other balance issues if there aren't land connections between every civ.

I don't have a strong opinion on map. If I was choosing, I would probably just leave it up to the MM'er to make something interesting.

Ah, and that's where I was coming from. A low sea level will make one or two long, world-spanning continents which can easily be land-bridged together. Again, though, these are just my preferences, I was hoping for more votes. Gaspar, I trust your thinking enough that whatever you use is fine. Should be an adventure.
