I'll try to go without hints for now.

We could also try the reverse contest; put up some hard-to-clue words and see who comes up with the best clue.

I really wanted E. to be decussated, but there was simply no way to make the clue fit apart from the first three words. smile

So maybe see who comes up with the best clue for that one?

Quarreled about a swearword - but don't be cross.

EDIT: Hmm, wrong tense of cross there... don't be crossed, then. Not quite as elegant, perhaps.

My suggestion for decussated (anagram cop-out):

Made a cross resolving to deduce SATs.
