I'm in favour of each trait once, if it's restricted by combo then it's not much of a restriction at all. 11 traits for a max of 5 matches will be really interesting.

How about making the final a race to 2 victories?
1st match: Ban list still in effect.
2nd match: Ban list reset
3rd match: Players pick their opponent's setup!

Would be an epic finish to a hopefully awesome tournament smile And I would really like to have at least one idea implemented bow

Waiting for final confirmation from Scooter, but it sounds like we have our options set- once he agrees, we will send our civ / leader picks to Mist for map generation. We will be doing an advanced era of some sort.

I had actually also thought that the trait rule applied to combos only, but I agree that each trait being one-time use is more interesting.

Scooter and I have picked leaders, civs & settings. We will be battling in the Renaissance Era; Scooter is Ghandi of France, while I chose Cyrus of Arabia.

Should we have a central light-hearted trash talking thread for all players?

My ideea was just you never can play same leader twice or same civ but becasue we are just 8 using every single trait once its excelent.

I was under the impression that selections were hidden until in-game contact. Maybe I read that from an earlier idea that wasn't implemented, though.

That's impossible in a multiplayer game, you can always see your opponents' picks.

However it does bring up whether it's OK to post your choices publicly before the other players have picked, when infrequency of choice is the tiebreaker. Now the other players are e.g. less likely to pick France for the first round because it's worse in the tiebreaker, and that gives Scooter an advantage. smoke
