So, we have cats and horse archers and are going to go take one of scooters cities.
The question is, what are our short and medium term plans/goals?
Long-term, it's getting to guilds and awesomeness in the form of cataphracts.
Short-term, it's scooter's city and maybe Luddite's stonehenge city, so we can get our marble and expand north. Dunno if we keep or raze it - keeping it might be tough, cause ludditepindicator will react hard to losing it...
Mid-term:
Tech->Monarchy, currency, aesthetics->drama. probably literature in there, maybe music if we think we can get the GP. With construction and drama, we can build all three of our 1/2 price buildings, one of which is the UB. Lit will get us NE and maybe the GLib, depending our my tech rate, which pretty decent right now.
After that, a beeline to guilds - metal casting, feudalism, machinery. CoL in there somewhere.
There is now a spear and a warchariot in it, so it's the slow attack. Fortunately, scooter built HG, so that's 100 hammers of wonder, rather than units.
This gets harder. spear and 2 war chariots, which isn't the hard thing. The hard thing is that it now has 40% culture, so it'll take 2 turns to get next to. I don't know that I can take it, now. Which would make me kind of screwed...
YAY!! I took Aruba (now, The Machine)!! Actually, i kicked ass - lost 1 archer, that's it. Catapults are great
I'll post some pics later, but here's the skinny:
He had 3 spears and 2 war chariots.
I had 2 HA, 1 chariot, 1 archer, 1 axe, 1 spear and 2 catapults. I gave the cats CR I and attacked - both survived and did some heavy damage, leaving 1 damaged spear, 2 really damaged spears and 2 damaged war chariots.
I sacrificed the archer on the spear, and then got 90% odds from then on.
Unfortunately, i had to leave the axe as the last attacker, so he's a little vulnerable to counterattacking warchariots, but I was able to put the scout to block the road. Hopefully, scooter only has 1 in range, so won't be able to re-take the city.
scooter got a GG in the melee. I am just 3 xp from one, myself.
Now I can go charge up my river to the other end!
Actually... I'm thinking I should be pressing on Scooter. I think he's being attacked from the other side, as well, as well as expanding north.
Thanks. I don't have a good sense for stacks that aren't overwhelming - in SP, you just build 10 cats and 10 HA and a few spears and axes for defense and go kill The AI doesn't quite cotton on to the fact that you are killing.
I screwed up my worker builds in Mooseport - I wanted to farm one of the FP, but I picked one that will get shared by the cap, and I don't want that. I will need to plow under that (unworked) cottage. *sigh*
I missed The Party, Pal - I'll add that in later
next turn, we get 2 workers. Not sure when we revolt - we might wait until The Machine comes out of resistance, since we'll pick up org rel and HR. But then, HR now gives us a higher happy cap.
Scooter's in trouble - we have to make sure we take advantage:
Not sure how he got a city on THAT side razedm since Sian would have come in from the other side - maybe he's just down to his cap and his copper city? Anyway, it's a plus for the Welcomers. And, honestly, if he wasn't being attacked, I don't know if we would have been able to take his city. Clearly, he has bigger fish to fry
Spain
An archer!! We can take that!!
(somehow, I think that if we dumped 3 HA on that oasis, he'll get a spear and just laugh)
Military deployment in the middle of civ. Gonna send the HA over to scoot, the archer up to The machine. The Machine, unsurprisingly, is going to be a GP farm.
Cat may go that way, as well.
Demos, etc:
Holy crap, look at that top GNP!!!
Maybe not that scary, though...
Spain has wicked culture. Now, culture matters, but at least it's not all research...
I'm a little concerned about out power rating, though I think Luddite/pindicators is high partly from the fact that no one has attacked him so his population is high.
Well, that's the state of the empire!
now, the question is:
After we finis off scooter (assuming we can do so), do we take on spain to get our marble?
Do we just peacefully expand north?
After currency, fishing, obviously, to take advantage of the netted fish. then - sailing? CoL? Lit? Getting HE would be great - I doubt we can get the Glib, though.
The Machine gets 8 CPT (2 for creative, 1 for hinduism, 5 for jewish holy city ), so it expands immediately. I'll pop out a missionary, whip a lib and a temple and get some GP from it. It should expand the second time in just 6-7 turns after that.
Need some more spears, though. Sian has at least one HA with formation.
