A Sev H ; could ->Ukr, but Sev is more useful for covering the homeland if scooter decides to make a break through ION
A War -> Gal
A Rum S A War -> Gal ; as described above, to give Rowain a build
A Sil -> Mun
A Tyr S A Sil -> Mun ; futile attempts on Mun for the win. 3vMun and 1vBer because why not? Probably actually a slight case to be made the other way (2 each) - BAL *might* be distracted by heading for St.P, Bur and Kie aren't going to be doing anything other than supporting Mun. Oh well.
A Tri -> Ven
A Ven -> Pie
A Pie -> Mar ; support of Pie is useless, only way to dislodge it is leaving LYO open (or bouncing there, which still removes support from TYS). Support of Tus is similarly useless, only way to dislodge it is leaving TYS open, and Tus would then be able to retreat to Rom.
F Tus -> LYO
F Rom -> TYS
F Nap S F Rom -> TYS
F ION -> Tun ; was considering supporting the attack on TYS instead, but the only thing I can see changing with that is a very small chance of gaining TYS instead of LYO, which seems like a bad call.
Leaving ION open if scooter wants to try for it. I would gain either LYO or TYS, and I *think* I have units in positions to make a single fleet threatening my homeland rather pointless. At least, for the next year
Also, would involve messing up the current dynamics in the western med, which would make things more imtereting, if not actually giving me any loophole to make progress.

If I'm going to lose, might as well lose in style, was the general idea.

I guess Rowain was just sick of playing the game and decided to throw it. Though it was pretty much an inevitable win by scooter from here. Still, would like to have actually fought it out.

Highly amusing how the one that actually went through came about, though. Woke up ~10 minutes after the deadline (as you can see from the timing of the above post). Sent in orders that involved ignoring the deals made with scooter and just going with what I'd already planned (again, see above post). Went in to uni, got a message from Mardoc about mis-orders, I'd accidentally called Sev, Mos. Fixed that. While heading in to uni, had gotten slightly cold feet at the prospect of going so blatantly against word I'd given several hours beforehand, so got the opportunity to correct that. And then managed to fail with the whole ->nap, ->apu thing, which couldn't be corrected while in class. Stupid nearby places having similar letters.
I'm so pro at this game :/
Very nice, I was really interested in finally hearing the true explanation for this. That's funny.

FWIW, I was thinking it over and I think I still could have won even with a F Stp(Nth) build. I had an extra fleet available, and all I would need to do is get it into Nwy, and I could use that to force Bar into my control and then take Stp. I could be wrong of course as I didn't spend enough time thinking it through to be sure, but yeah, I think I could have won even with the Stp build, it just would have taken a lot longer.

Great game btw, I think you played a really strong game. The dancing over negotiating in the Med was quite a fun challenge for me.

If there was a ->Fin move as well as the Lvn->St.P necessary to bounce and leave it open, I think he'd've been in a decent position to force Nwy - or at least, delay you several years before you'd be in a position to force stuff that would allow you to force St.P.
Eh, I wasn't looking too far ahead either, I was just looking for moves that resulted in the game continuing for another turn

Yup that was the move I thought as the strongest possible russian action (Get into FIN bounce in STP) so I believed Scooter would guard against it by NWY-FIN (and NTH -NWY).
