Noble SG: No Improvements

I wouldnt call it needless. 1. I pillaged some 30 gold between the 2 wars. 2. I set Izzy back to the stone age, she has to be pretty far behind. You could have always made peace with her :P.

She was never going to be our friend long term - once she got a religion she would hate us for ever. anyway its still 750 BC so if we make peace that will wear off before too long. also, we're friendly with everyone else! trade routes with rome, HRE, and babylon are more valuable than any trade routes we would get with spain anyway - and we'll be friendly with sitting bull up until the point we DOW him (which probably won't be soon).

sorry for taking so long and holding up the game. I'll play tomorrow night, and my next turn in 48 hours at least tongue

I've spent way too much time trying to figure out the puzzle shoot left me with. I don't think we can land the oracle. I'm pretty sure its going to fall in the next 15-20 turns (sometime during Brick's turn) and that doesnt leave me with enough time to build it. Shoot left me with 4 pre-chopped forests, but 2 of them are in no man's land and will go to the capital.

The good news is we should have no trouble completing TGL, and I think we can build the pyramids in Shoots "oracle city" if we start off with that, and research math before currency. (currency will be great, but TGL will give us much more trade routes anyway - as 7 of our first 8 cities will be coastal, so we can afford to delay it. losing out on hammers for valuable chops we can't put off though). I know I seem to be the only one that values pyramids - but that came from reading the original SG. we will pop GP from our wonders, and should have no problem landing the great library, too - so we will get plenty of value from REP (not to mention the +3 happy, and our capital will be able to support a few specialists).

Since I can't play the turn until tomorrow anyway, I wanted to make sure no one would be upset if I abandoned the oracle before I did so smile.

Those two prechops weren't my own for what it's worth smile.

Also, remember this is noble. I don't think landing the Oracle at this point is totally out of the question.

well the two prechops will help me finish TGL w/o having to be too creative with whip overflow/kill growth. and they are in between 2 cities so can't be worked by citizens anyway.

I'll prechop some more areas for the city in question, and try to setup brick to land the oracle if its possible. the real problem is even chops are slow to come in - we only have 1 worker, and since we can't build roads each chop takes 2 turns, even when it is completely pre-chopped (1 to move onto forest, 2nd to chop).

I am going to prioritize math over currency, though. our economy will be boosted plenty once TGL comes in.

Turn 130-139: Bigger really needs to learn to play a turnset without taking so many damn pictures.

first things first:
before I even finished shoot's last turn. I told you I knew how to talk to this girl wink.

whipped this out right away:

thought I'd be sneaky and settle the oracle city right away, with the warrior incoming:
oops, turn around, turn around!

turn 136, we met this guy:
another Jewish heathen.

still, able to get this trade deal:

also, apparently I flubbed the picture, but I traded him alphabet for monotheism. we got raped in the exchange, but this happenned to be the exact turn I was chopping into the capital (TGL) so I couldnt pass up the chance for a quick OR. which I revolted to immediately, making the chops bring in an extra 4 hammers smile. we also got a +4 relations modify for the lopsided trade, which will be very useful as we also have a -3 modifier for different religion. so we're friendly with everyone on the other continent except hammurabi, who foundd Judaism frown.

not much happenned until my last turn:
ok, we don't have any axes yet, but this can't hurt smile.
Also of note: we got a forest growth due east of baghdad (yay).

charlemagne converted from hinduism to judaism. boo. I think that whole continent will be Jews eventually frown.

2 final whips:

Missionary is for Damascus, which is not likely to get a free spread (unlike Baghdad). with the overflow Brick can build TGL in 1 turn if he cuts off growth, or 3 if he keeps working fishies to grow.
Brick, thats a lot of overflow, use it as you wish smile. maybe a settler, grow on the madragas, then whip settler at size 4. or maybe directly into the madras, then grow onto a cheap temple and whip it. not really sure what the best move here. actually we really do need settlers, with TGL every settler is an immediate boon to our economy.

I left you with 3 pre-chopped forests on the oracle city. if you wait until maths comes in and the missionary hits damascus (please do) there worth 78-79 each, so that should be enough to build it. that'll take 6 turns, I think, plus another 6 to chop the 3 forests. pray the wonder lasts that long, I'm not sure. If it falls then keep prechopping forests in the area and we can use damascus to build the pyramids smile. pyramids are 750 here and should last a lot longer - you can start on a granary, whip it at size 2, and overflow into the pyramids, then stay on that until you have enough forests to chop it out.

we have 3 more easy city spots on our continent (including one on a wheat that we will badly need later in the game). plus 2-3 spots on the western continent once we have a galley built (and probably an actual military too, hehe).
