Unrelated, I'm deep I'm the woods in Kentucky and I think the banjoes are playing themselves. Someone cast life 3 on me. You know, just in case.

T0 - The sun rises on the year 4000 BC. Since time immemorial players of the caliber of Boldly Going Nowhere, BRickAstley, and spacetyrantxenu have been beaten to a bloody pulp by superior players. After years of taking such abuse they are ready to settle down and take abuse from a new set of competitors. Or hopefully dish it out.
BBX, your people had no choice but to vest absolute power in you, hoping beyond their despair that you can build a Civilization to stand the test of time! Or not be noobstomped. But to hopefully 'PHRACT THEM ALL!!!!! I logged into the game, first things first, is Commodore a liar and built a toroidal or flat map for lurker amusement? Nope, looks like one wrap to me. Jolly good. The game has been up less than half an hour and two people have settled cities already. This is a greens game. Are we doing C&D? I'm not. But in case anyone is: I'll probably take F9 shots regularly since I'm already in the habit of doing it. From anyone who read my thread in PB8, do you guys care about seeing F9 every turn? I mean...since I'm not building a spreadsheet out of its data it isn't doing me a lot of good, but maybe in a team game it makes more sense in case someone else wants to look at it. I'll take it as we go for now. Just a bit more housekeeping before we get rolling, do either of these matter? Wetbandit has a mod loaded. We should probably know what mod, if that's legal, or if it may have any adverse effect on the pitboss server (yo mod, please don't screw up our game saves). Also this, isn't necessarily a problem, but it's probably best turned off if there isn't a good reason for it to be turned on. I think Seven had logging enabled accidentally when he was in a game before, as I recall because he was writing a map script or something at the time, and logging is obviously a good thing when you're trying to get your code to work correctly. But I don't remember the possible MP problems that logging can cause, just that there was something about it that made it best to disable loggging. Anyone care to explain? And to the game map:
Starts are apparently not 100% mirrored unless there is another food resource under one of these forests. Rival best food is 5 now, so someone has an unimproved 3 yield tile (FP, or food resource), we do not appear to have a 5 food start, pending what's under those three fogged tiles. Would Commodore be so evil as to tempt us to settle in place on a plains hill, but then leave strandable seafood off the peninsula to the NW? Do we think it's possible enough to move the scout NW, N to check? Or move the scout either SW/?? or SE/?? This seems like an obvious settle in place choice, surely the mapmaker wouldn't troll players in a greens game with a possible FAIL on turn 0 opportunity? 47 hour to go on the clock. Brick, feel free to log in and have a look. We're currently named "Possum Kingdom" Boldly, if you want to log in...go buy yourself some working Internets. No rush on the game, I assume Boldly will want to run about twelve sims at work tomorrow. We can discuss a bit and then play tomorrow some time in the afternoon or evening. Happy 'Phracting! Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
This is exactly what I've run already. Not 12 times, but well enough for an idea of how to go. Move the scout SE/NE and see if we can get additional bonus tiles in our BFC. If nothing enticing is revealed, SIP, warrior, fishing. No one will lose turn zero. At best we lose T1 settling on deer.
No stupid plane crash names. How about something a little more uplifting. Pun sorely intended. |
