I think I might move my capital to the Rice/Gem/double Dyes city. Only wet rice for food, but the other tiles are all grasslands.

I see OB with Gavagai and that you are neutral on import/export. Is anyone else willing to open borders? From a quick glance, it looks like you have several available foreign routes still. What are your next expansion locations? Jungle or "other"?

The only other person I've met is GermanJojo. Who wanted OB for my Gems (I do have two but one is not hooked up right now, I'm not about to send my best cities into unhappiness) and then 40 gold for OB. Lump sum deals are bad because he could take my gold and then declare war to cancel OB.

I might counter with a gpt deal, but I'm not sure it's in my best interest as I don't want everyone suddenly demanding gold from for OB especially since they can gain just as much from the deal.

Next expansion goal is to get a galley out for some domestic ICTR and eventually into the jungle.

I'm going to change tech path to Poly->Priesthood->CoL. 1 turn slower to get there but ultimately saves about 100 beakers, so hopefully I don't lose Confucianism because of it.

I'm doing well at the moment but I don't see how I can win without Astro. It's going to be difficult to balancing everything (tech/expansion/military).

I forgot you hadn't really met anyone other than GJ who wanted gems. I looked at the scoreboard and counted trade routes. Having contact helps facilitate trade, I suppose. smile

Joey accepted OB for 4 gold per turn. I got 10 foreign ICTR for a 20 commerce per turn boost. I think it's really important to be able to get past his borders to meet REM for known tech bonuses and more potential trade routes.

I got a map trade as well. Apparently Furungy is to my direct south, someone else that I need to meet.

Teching Priesthood this turn. Hopefully with some researching builds and research overflow I can land Confucianism turn 91.

I think I got a good shot at it. Who are my competitors for Confucianism?

The ORG leaders:

Mackoti: He doesn't have a religion yet, but he recently got a Great Engineer. I would imagine him beelining Calender to rush the MoM.

REM: He already got a religion (Hindu) so probably not.

Plako: He's Sumeria with Buddhism, so there's no point for him to tech CoL.

Furungy: Probably the most likely candidates of the ORG leaders, but he's doing poorly according to the scoreboard. Hopefully he doesn't have the GNP to beat me.

So out of the ORG leaders, a few already have religions. There's no Spiritual leaders and CoL is a much worse tech for non-ORG leaders at this stage of the game.

IF I get Confucianism, then I will tech Mono and Monar, to double revolt into Org.Religion and Hereditary Rule.

Probably won't try for Music, since I don't have Math yet, which is prerequisite for Music. I don't have marble either, so the wonders aren't very attractive. I do have the Heroic Epic unlocked but I don't think I will be fighting anyone any time soon. Then I will back fill with Math, Calender and Iron Working. Hopefully meeting some more players for the known tech bonus.

A quick trait analysis because why not?

Same method as a prior analysis. Where "I took each player's two traits and assign a number based on the rank of the player on the scoreboard."

Small sample size obviously, although some small correlations could be drawn to the PB18 comparison in that AGG and CHM leaders seemed to do poorly.
