[PB22-SPOILERS] HAKFlakes...the cereal that will choke you until we win

We need a faster starting 2nd city than the one SW. There is no food first ring, which means 10 turns to growth before whip monument (or 4 turns to chip monument) + 10 turns to border pop ... wait, that site is close enough to steal the capital's Rice. I didn't notice that until now. Plus it's close enough to share a couple cottages and a strategically located mine 2S of the capital. That's actually looking like a pretty strong 2nd city candidate as long as we go Monument first and whip that ASAP ... another wait, doesn't RtR mod have culture on the Barracks? And double production for AGG? Whip the Barracks instead, which means we can delay Mysticism research if we want.

This will mean that we pretty much have to go WB > WB at the capital next so that we have some decent tiles to work, but this also means we won't be needing worker labor in the near future and thus won't need to immediately follow up our settler build with another worker. I'll hopefully get into the sim a bit tomorrow evening or Saturday evening. At least enough to better determine which forests to chop.

Yeah, that sharing of the rice was kinda why I was thinking it'd be the better start...even with it taking awhile for the border pop. Since unless there is something awesome hiding in one of those first two fogged tiles to the east, there's no good food over there either. Yeah there's the Cows, but we'd have to research AH first and skip over Pottery. And there would still be time of that city not having much food...other than sharing one of the Clams. So the SW city taking the Rice while the capital works the Clams (after work boats) looks to be our best bet right now.

Gavagai's scout stayed in place this past turn healing from .6 to .7 health. So if he keeps healing there while our Warrior finishes, then if I send the warrior SE towards his scout, we might be lucky enough to scare him away from us such that he doesn't go around our city to take huts we might have to the NW. Though any civ that way coming towards us would probably get them, but we can only worry about what we see right now. smile

Also, since I'm home today I'll even try to do a little simming. I'm totally not all that good at it, but I'll see what I can figure out. If you are good at the whole World Builder stuffs and can do that quickly (it'd probably take me half a day) and have time to at least do that part, let me know.

Extending the sim to the current date and updating the territory to the southwest in World Builder should only take me 15 minutes or so, and I should be able to knock that out on lunch break about 2 hours from now. You just followed the build orders in the Google Doc, right?

Yup. And just so you have all the specifics in case you want to confirm anything here are all the numbers...
Turn 18 (the one we are in right now, waiting for others to finish)
BW at 152/193
Just grew to size 2, so Food at 0/24
Warrior at 12/15 (completing in 2 turns)
Getting 12 beakers per turn
Worker shows 2 turns left on the road (which from my recollection means he finishes it during next turn)

Also, I decided to move the scout SE now rather than wait for full health since he could move onto a forest. Will choose later when to have him heal further. Probably when a movement might end him with not being on a forest. Here is the additional land uncovered...

Kewl. I'll play around with it later.

So of course I didn't get a chance to play around with it yet. I'm going away this weekend (leaving straight from work tomorrow) and we're having an Open House on Sunday while we're away for selling our condo. So had to spend this afternoon getting things a bit more cleaned up and organized.

Do you need turns covered? I can cover turns if needed

I had time to play through twice. Once during lunch after I sent you the updated sandbox, then mulled over the results this afternoon and tried once more with some changes. I'm sure this can be improved upon, but it's the best I've got so far.

At this point all the worker improvements (2 cottages, a mine, and a rice farm) can be shared between the two cities as needed in the coming turns.
