So the sim that I just finished (when I should have been working) has this as the status at T79:
C5 gets founded
C1 is about to be S6 with Granary/Forge/Mahabodhi while building a Library.
C2 is S7 & 5t from finishing a Settler (that would be 2-pop whipped T80) with Granary/Barracks.
C3 is 1t from S6 building Axe (to be wipped T80) with Granary.
C4 is 2t from S3 building Granary with Barracks (and enough hammers in an Axe for a 1-pop whip if needed).
C5 is 8t from S2 building Barracks (with the worker improving the Wheat.
T79 is also the first turn that I would need to turn off research, having been able to go 100% all the way until then. This was able to get me IW, then Writing, then Math. After Math probably choosing either Sailing (to net those Whales) or Masonry (to quarry the Marble). Decision would be based on when the worker by C5 would be done with it's farm to then be able to start the quarry. I forgot to test that far yet.
I will likely need to slip in another Worker before T79 and/or other military depending on the circumstances around me. But this looks like at least a decent start to a recovery.

So some interesting news and changes for this turn...
Big power spikes for Krill as he declares war on TheWannabe:
Also, that Barb showing up again in the north means I need to switch the city back to building a Warrior using the Horses just to be safe. My C2 Warrior between the two cities can get into the city next turn before the Warrior can attack, but I think I decided I may as well build another warrior before I get the copper hooked up. Since in my prior sim, that warrior pre-build upgraded to a Holkan. Which although is nice, I think I'll pay off better to just get out another quicker Warrior for the inner core defenses/MP. It'll delay the growth of that city since it'll have to spend the next couple turns working the pasture instead of the farm, so that city won't grow as quickly as the other sim. But that city was not key to my expansion efforts anyway, so I should be fine doing this. I'll just have to run another sim shortly to update my plan.
Also another barb in the SE, which I expect that he'll just march towards the city and attack the defending warrior and hopefully die doing so.

And we now have a shrine....
I lucked out with the movement of that NW barb. He could have moved to the tile 1N of Wellington, which would have been very annoying because I would have had to move the worker inside the city...costing me 2 worker turns. I expect both barbs would likely attack the cities and unless RNG absolutely hates me, they should die at the hands of my defenders.
Way up in the NW, my scout met Barteq while moving north from Grimace. I then moved my scout NW, so Barteq won't know where I met him.
Next turn I get both a Warrior & Chariot, so hopefully I'll finally no longer be ranked last in Power. LOL

Other side comments of things I've been keeping an eye on. I've still been tracking the city founding times. Donovan got his 3rd city on T56 along with me, and Grimace still doesn't have his 3rd. Adrien got his 3rd on T50 and Elkad got his 3rd on T51. So I'm certainly not last in cities anymore.
But Dtay and Yuri are propagating like rabbits. Dtay just got two new cities 2 turns in a row (both T55 and T56) to get himself to be the first to 6 cities. Yuri was at 5 cities on T50 (first person to 5) and taotao got himself to 5 cities on T55. Then there are 5 other people who are at 4 cities.
I'm hopeful to get my city 4 ahead of a few of the people who got city 3 before me. Again, a lot of this depends on the barb situations and if Tsargon shows up with any military. But his power hasn't had any big jumps yet, so I think I'm ok on that front. And with TW being war-dec'd by Krill, I would expect him to focus that direction for at least a bit when it comes to military. And he doesn't have Horses yet, so no fear of War Chariots. So I have time to get out any needed Holkans.
I also saw a small dip in Gavagai's power in the graphs a little while back, so he likely lost something to a barbarian. Currently watching to see if I see any dips from either TW or Krill, to find out if they are actually having any physical conflict.

Well, seeing as I only just built it THIS turn it's only decreasing my gold loss by 1gpt, allowing me to go even further before having to turn off research. My hope is that it spreads my religion really quickly to my other cities. This happened in many of my sims. This helped get border expansions quickly, helped increase the happy cap for doing additional whipping, and at one point even got my gpt to be positive while researching at 100%.
It's also going to get me another great person quicker. In a few of my sims I got myself a forge built to run an Engineer to add a small chance of one of those as my next GP. It didn't happen in any of those sims, but if that happens it could be really nice. I could research Calendar and instabuild the MoM for example. If I get another Great Prophet next, I'll likely hold onto him for a bit until I see what the next one is. If I get another Prophet again, I'll see about using one of them for a tech bulb or even settling him (does anyone even do that?). But I'll mainly hold one on hand for when I eventually do a Golden Age. Hopefully waiting until I have enough techs for some good civic swaps.
But right now, if it spreads to even one of my cities next turn I'll be researching at 100% without any gold loss.

So, annoyingly neither barb attacked the cities. NW one moved onto the Horse pasture (luckily I don't need to be working that tile this turn) so I had to move my C2 warrior SE while keeping the new C1 warrior in the city for defense. Am I correct that barbs rarely destroy improvements and if there is a unit to attack they would be way more likely to do that? So I'm hoping it attacks either the city (and loses) or attacks my C2 warrior and loses.
The barb in the SE moved to S of the city (hence threatening my worker), but my brand new Chariot was able to ride down the roads and kill it. So now that chariot will have a nice promotion available to it. Going to start with Flanking, since I'm planning to have this first one wander around killing barbs to hopefully get to Sentry promotion for nice visibility.
The other good piece of news is as I had hoped. Religion spread to the new city of Twisted Oak. So those borders will pop in 10 turns, and I am now researching 100% with no gold loss! Iron Working in 6T! Really hopeful that I have the Iron already in my existing borders or at one of my next 2 city choices. Not for the Iron itself (since I don't really plan to make any Swords just yet), but the added production from being able to mine the Iron wherever it shows up is certainly a good thing.

So exactly what I was hoping would happen, happened. The next religion spread already happened. So now I'm gaining money while researching at 100%.
Over in the east, TheWannabe has settled that horses city exactly as I suspected he would. So I need to get out those next two cities ASAP and hope for religion spreads to exert my cultural control for that border. I'm almost wondering if I should 2-pop whip the settler out of Corison when I'm able to. I don't really want to because the Granary won't be until after this settler, but I may run a SIM to see if doing so helps the expansion at all. This turn AT got both his City5 & City6 at the same time. So now there are 3 people with 6 cities already.

Well, quite suckily RNG hates me. I just lost my Chariot in the SE to a barb warrior. I moved my warrior to be next to the barb, so hopefully the barb will just attack my warrior and die. Or at least just move in a direction not directly next to Twisted Oak. Otherwise next turn I'll need to switch the city to a Warrior and whip it out. Which would save the city, but suck for my current plans and massively delay my City#5.
On a positive note, I'm actually pulling in 4gpt from my Shrine. So that means my religion spread to someone else's city. The border of a city TW settled Peaks by the shoreline are already expanded, so my guess is that the religion spread to that city. I'm currently making +2gpt at 100% research. And I get Iron Working next turn, so I'm anxious to see where the Iron shows up.

That's crazy - sounds like you need to get some more cities settled to spend all your cash!
