I always, even as a child, found it sort of amusing that Hitler was not a German leader. Especially since Stalin is a staple Russian leader from Civ 1 and on. Heck, even the Great Khan. History is a mess.

The Montezuma of Civ is Montezuma II (the one who presided over the Spanish conquest of Mexico), it says so in the Civilopedia.
Frederick II being such a peaceful leader was always very strange to me.

We also have Alexander leading the Greeks (or recently, and correctly, Makedon), a man who burned down cities, dragged a man behind his horse until he was a barely recognizable mess, and butchered and/or enslaved millions.
Come to think of it, most leaders have some sort of blood on their hands, though to be honest, that does fit with how most players run their civs too...

If you're getting a broken link for the AI Survivor bracket, make sure that you're clicking on the most recent link. Some of the older ones on earlier pages of this forum thread don't lead anywhere because they're now outdated and I replaced them. The main Season Three page always has the current information and should work correctly.
I also wouldn't take any of the historical information in the Civilization games too seriously. This is a strategy game that uses history as a theming mechanism, not a serious attempt to evaluate the past. This is a game where leaders live for thousands of years, Slavery and State Property are the best ways to organize economic activity in a society, and every major world religion functions in exactly the same way. Worrying about the historic details will only leave you frustrated.

As a reminder, the next game for Civ4 AI Survivor will be this upcoming Friday (September 1st) at noon EST. The Game Four Preview has been updated today with the current community predictions. We have Montezuma AND Catherine in this one - should be quite the show.

One little thing that kept nagging me on the stream, it's pronounced "Rohsevelt", not "Roohsevelt" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR9GYT8Du8I) it's a Dutch name in origin, meaning "Field of Roses". It therefore has the Dutch pronunciation. The "oo" in Dutch is pronounced as "oh" roughly. Fun Fact: Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt actually spoke Dutch in private, but spoke English in public. FDR, of course, spoke English but he did still pronounce it "Rohsevelt"

Well, that was indeed quite an ending today! I don't want to spoil it for those who missed the live broadcast. It's going to be a lot of fun writing that one up later this weekend. Thanks to everyone who was able to turn out today and take part in the Livestream. Special thanks to Old Harry, Adrien, and Klops, who won the prediction contest for the fourth game with a score of 16 points each. Here's a bunch of links as we get ready for Game Five coming up next week.

I'm pretty sure Charlemagne is pronounced 'SHAR lah man' as well. I've tried to find any evidence of it being "shar la MAN ya" out of curiosity and I can't find any. In modern French it's 100% pronounced SHAR lah man. And CRISto reDENTor.
But Sulla's horrible pronunciation of various famous cities and J-man is half the fun of watching his streams. Njimegan cracks me up as well.
Edit: And hopefully no offense, Sulla, just poking fun.

SULLA you made ALL the northern civs the EXACT SAME COLOR. I see you took my advice and cared about color blind people.
