[SPOILERS] Team EggHeads: DMOC and TeddyKGB (Now Lurker-Friendly!)

From Yos.

Quote:Hi,

We made contact with India and the English chariot this turn. GG has a settler in Neapolis. We're going to keep an eye on it and try to spot their iron.
Rome is researching Masonry, complete next turn (T81)

How do you think we should move our units ('retep' and another chariot) in the south this turn?
Explore? Threat Rome somehow? Stay inside our culture and pray?
I wonder where Rome's settler goes. And they will finish Masonry next turn, so maybe it planned to go near Marble?

UWash founded. It will work Horses for 2 turns and Corn for the next 2 turns, then granary done with 14/22 food stored.
UC put one turn into Axe, next turn we should switch to workboat, so it could improve fish for UWash just the turn borders pop.
MIT start 4t worker, I did shuffle tiles a bit and we are working lake for this turn.
Cornell start Spear just in case, next turn it'll grow size3 and could work copper or flood plains.

Workers near UIllinois split. One go for chop into workboat, 2nd go roading back to the core.
Worker that finished farm put 1t into mine between MIT and UC. Next turn he has options, I was thinking to finish cottage near UC with him, but he could do something else.
Worker at Stanford start our 1st riverside cottage.

Asterix connected Gold.
Yos contact India.
Rome still has no copper or iron on trade screen. No granary in city#2 for them either.
Noone connected 2nd happy resouce, afaik.

I did move 'retep' closer to Rome's border, since we paying 1gpt for supply anyway.
Next turn he could explore around Marble a bit or take a look into Rome's city.
Spear will be on top of the silver next turn.
We probably had to wait with north fish exploration till T84, if I understand mechanic of spawnbusting correct.

Orgy's warrior enter our culture.

Okay, looks good. I like the way things are laid out at the moment.

-Workers: the one that is roading back to core from Uillinois should probably continue doing that 'full-time' for the next few turns.
-Worker who put a turn into mine; yes finish up the cottage at berkeley. After that we might consider using him to road some of the forests if we'll use them for chopping.

Our msg.
Quote:Right now our scout is close to your NorthWest borders, so we are humbly asking you to let him through.
His goal is to defog northern coast for possible sea trade routes, not to scout your core.
I'm asking you to let him through with following conditions:
- We will follow your instructions how to move our scout inside your culture. As I said, our goal is to defog nothern coast, nothing else.
- We won't share any info our scout could get while inside your culture with any other teams.
- If you like to send a scouting unit through our land to contact India, we will gladly agree with the same conditions in mind.

Orgy's reply
Quote:We're a bit surprised at your request to send a scout through our land only a few turns after making a no-scouting agreement. However, we'll accept on the condition that he sticks exclusively to the northernmost possible tiles at all times during his journey east. (This is presumably close to what you'd want to do anyway to uncover the coast.) We trust you'll also return the gesture by granting passage to an exploratory unit of ours at a later date.

GG played right after me and logout right after turn rolled. So he wanted the 2nd half of the turn?
I'll login shortly just to take a look, won't move any units.

I know that we agreed to that, but they should have at least asked for our permission. Oh well, we'll bring it up if they don't stick to the north. If they do move south we should send them a polite reminder.

(November 7th, 2013, 20:35)TeddyKGB Wrote: T80 news. Didn't move any units.

There is no units of Rome to be seen.
Antium finished granary. It wasn't there last turn if I'm not mistaken.
Still no Iron or Copper for Rome.
Still 0EP on us.

Most interesting thing - Rome contacted India. 0EP on them either. I suppose Rome is set to attack Dinos but we'll see.

Boy, it would be really good if we could get Rome to attack India somehow. I mean, Rome just finished writing, so they are way behind in terms of the snowball in tech. If they want to make a 'splash' in this game, they should attack India...

If we're going to explore, let's keep it to one unit. Maybe retep can explore near the marble just to see if there's any viable city that can claim the marble that won't just have the snow deer.

Say, I just realized, we could send our warrior near Cornell to explore India's land ... I'd really like to see their cities so we can tell where they're located, if they've whipped population, etc... Want to do that, or send our scout to do that? I assume our scout is near the west of our lands, though.

Turn 80 - 875 BC

Our exploring chariot meet Rome's chariot pretty far away from their land.
We can see Rome's new borders east of Antium, I suppose thats their city#5 planted this turn.
Next turn borders for UIllinois expanded and we'll get better visual.

Workers continue what they started, except workerA moved to complete cottage in UC.
We could delay chopping into UIllinois till after the math, as an option. Working silver and delaying workboat but faster granary a bit, I think.

I didn't move some sentry units, cause I'm paranoid about spawnbust.
We could expect barbs from LP's direction, west of gold and horses every turn, but other directions we are safe from barbs.
Cornell and its workers are vunerable, but I gamble here on trusting Yuufo. Damn, I was planning to play it safe with NAPs and all.

UC will complete wb next turn which improve fish for UWash on T84, when borders pop.

CM will whip settler next turn for our city#8. I want us to plant it 1N from your sign, to share good tiles with Cornell.

I decide to work 3/0/1 tile in Cornell instead of 1/5/0, maybe its a minor mistake but I have some reasons.

Demos so-so. We are 1st in MFG, but our total food isn't good enough.
Our Power is mediocre, but it should be enough for now.
Holding UIllinois vs Rome still a gamble and we may lose it.

Looking okay so far. According to the victory screen, we should have #1 population in the world (i.e. total citizens, not what the demographics screen tells us) since Care Bears are second, and I'm pretty sure the three remaining teams we've met don't have as much population as us. So while I'm worried about Care Bears having so many more cities than we do, we're actually getting more per-city right now, and let's hope the trend continues until beyond turn 100. The key is ... can we take advantage of this at some point and prevent Care Bears from snowballing to a win?

Couple of comments on units, workers, cities, etc.

-Team GG doesn't have open borders with anyone? They're seriously compromising their long-term prospects, and I'm worried that they're just playing a troll game here. frown
-I actually agree in Cornell working the floodplains instead of the copper, so no worries there. goodjob Cornell is undefended but we can always whip the spear if needed.
-Exploring chariot to the south: since we have another 'backup' chariot to the north, want to move this chariot (retep?) 4-7 to unfog the last bit of snow there?
-Warrior to our east: move him 1 or 3 next turn? I'd really value being able to see where India is putting their cities, so how about we move him 3 next turn on the hill and then move him right into their borders as soon as possible? As far as I can remember, we don't have a no-scouting clause.
-City #8 (Princeton), I assume, will come via the settler from Carengie Mellon that we'll get by whipping at size 8? We both agree that we want it between Illinois and Cornell, right? If so, let's set up a dotmap for the entire eastern region first, since it should be ours if Care Bears honors their agreement.
-Worker at Illinois: it's fine to delay the chop until mathematics (I suggest roading the forest if so, we might need it).

Two long-term thoughts:
-Since our slider is going to be low for a bit, I suggest that we focus more on workers rather than settlers in our cities for the near future, except for Stanford and Carnegie Mellon, since I think they've already put hammers into them.
-I would really like to get the Heroic Epic set up at some point, so it might be worth it to leave a spot unfogged for barbarians, so we can use a chariot or axe and get it to 10 XP.

Victor Hinderliter (00:10:28 9/11/2013)
We did see that chariot

Victor Hinderliter (00:10:37 9/11/2013)
We're rushing a spear over to that area

LexIVn (00:10:43 9/11/2013)
good

Victor Hinderliter (00:10:45 9/11/2013)
I hadn't seen their new city yet

Victor Hinderliter (00:11:03 9/11/2013)
Dinosaurs want to exchange screenshots of Rome with us

LexIVn (00:11:23 9/11/2013)
they ask ss from us too via India

LexIVn (00:11:46 9/11/2013)
obv I wont share ur screenshots with noone

LexIVn (00:12:11 9/11/2013)
I told India we just saw NW corner of rome

LexIVn (00:12:27 9/11/2013)
u know rome contact India on t79?

LexIVn (00:13:58 9/11/2013)
damn. I wanna raze antium badly

Victor Hinderliter (00:16:13 9/11/2013)
I know, razing Antium would have been so perfect!

Victor Hinderliter (00:16:23 9/11/2013)
Yes, you had mentioned that they met India last turn

Victor Hinderliter (00:16:39 9/11/2013)
We actually have contact with everyone except LP and Asterix now

LexIVn (00:16:48 9/11/2013)

Victor Hinderliter (00:18:08 9/11/2013)
They're scouting out your lands, huh?

Victor Hinderliter (00:18:13 9/11/2013)
Do you know if LP is back to playing the turns?

LexIVn (00:19:14 9/11/2013)
we had a deal with LP about no-scouting but after that we ask let our scout through. it was the time when we talk with LP himself
now, i think, diplo with orgy is stalled

LexIVn (00:19:40 9/11/2013)
i'm not sure. i wish LP back. hes a reasonable guy

Victor Hinderliter (00:19:58 9/11/2013)
Really?

LexIVn (00:20:11 9/11/2013)
in his last msg he told us he is very busy and then hes gone

Victor Hinderliter (00:20:27 9/11/2013)
Arki and Magno can be a little hot-headed. But I get along well with them both, and they both have much worse civ skills then LP!

LexIVn (00:20:40 9/11/2013)
by reasonable, i meant we know what to expect of him

LexIVn (00:21:41 9/11/2013)
well, i suppose LP just decide this game not worth his time
too complicated

LexIVn (00:22:32 9/11/2013)
i mean, we had tough 5 teams north
SH is nice, but map is kinda meh

Victor Hinderliter (00:22:52 9/11/2013)
I've been enjoying the map. The equator tundra was an interesting twist

LexIVn (00:23:45 9/11/2013)
i mean from LPs position maybe

Victor Hinderliter (00:24:44 9/11/2013)
Oh, I see

Victor Hinderliter (00:24:53 9/11/2013)
I hope he wouldn't quit a game just because he didn't like the map

LexIVn (00:24:54 9/11/2013)
Orgy not expanded well so far
maybe they'll plant 2 more cities soon, they whip some pop twice recently

LexIVn (00:25:35 9/11/2013)
maybe they land mids and GLh next turn, I dont know

Victor Hinderliter (00:26:04 9/11/2013)
lol, if they land both of those next turn, that would change my view on how they're doing!

Victor Hinderliter (00:26:24 9/11/2013)
Dinosaurs also have research visibility on Rome, btw

LexIVn (00:26:38 9/11/2013)
u mean on tech?

Victor Hinderliter (00:27:18 9/11/2013)
Yeah, tech visibility

LexIVn (00:27:35 9/11/2013)
ok, we are spend ep on rome currently

LexIVn (00:27:46 9/11/2013)
they didnt

LexIVn (00:28:00 9/11/2013)
where rome put his ep? on u or dinos?

Victor Hinderliter (00:29:45 9/11/2013)
On both of us. They have about 100 EP's against each of us

Victor Hinderliter (00:29:55 9/11/2013)
And both us and the dinos have been putting our EP's against Rome

Victor Hinderliter (00:30:16 9/11/2013)
I'm not sure who else to put them on? I was putting them on the Ponies, but that kind of seems like a waste

LexIVn (00:30:17 9/11/2013)
rome has 0 toward India and us so far

Victor Hinderliter (00:30:27 9/11/2013)
I am putting them against Care Bears right now, but we already get their graphs from your team

LexIVn (00:30:50 9/11/2013)
yep, they 1st in food, no surprise

LexIVn (00:31:16 9/11/2013)
LPs MFG graphs jumps last turns

LexIVn (00:31:35 9/11/2013)
Indias power too

LexIVn (00:31:56 9/11/2013)
let me just send u all graphs

LexIVn (00:32:06 9/11/2013)
its from t80

Victor Hinderliter (00:33:51 9/11/2013)
Cool, thanks

LexIVn (00:35:03 9/11/2013)
sent. np

LexIVn (00:36:11 9/11/2013)
sorry, my c&d sux. i didn't follow it close for some time

LexIVn (00:37:54 9/11/2013)
SutOXy expanded very well

Victor Hinderliter (00:38:00 9/11/2013)
Oh no problem. We really appreciate the screenshots

LexIVn (00:38:48 9/11/2013)
anything for u, just ask.
i really think we could be long term ally in this game

Victor Hinderliter (00:39:33 9/11/2013)
Yeah, I already view our relationship in that light. We'll give you what you need so we can be the two teams left at the end

LexIVn (00:39:59 9/11/2013)
its a long road to that. tho

Victor Hinderliter (00:40:12 9/11/2013)
Of course, with lots of obstacles along the way

LexIVn (00:40:13 9/11/2013)
India is current runaway

LexIVn (00:40:28 9/11/2013)
but it might not be final

Victor Hinderliter (00:40:34 9/11/2013)
But if we protect each other and help each other out, we'll do well. Two teams together can do a lot more than even a runaway India

LexIVn (00:41:02 9/11/2013)
i mean, IMP trait is good
and Yuufo played it perfect so far, but its an early trait

Victor Hinderliter (00:41:04 9/11/2013)
Ok, I have to run. Thanks again for the pictures. Let me know if there is anything you need from us before I leave tomorrow

Victor Hinderliter (00:41:25 9/11/2013)
Obviously Caledorn knows to get you pictures you request, but he might not be able to respond right away

Yos met everyone except LP and Asterix now. We are talking well and exchange info like its nothing.
Still, after they establish TR, OB is a good boost to them and nothing to us.

Chat with Yuufo was most part about football.
Some game related points:

- Asterix researching Calendar now
- Yuufo said they has Forges (not Forge) atm
- Religion spread is slow
- Rome visit them with chariot
- Oracle city is prepared with garrison (I guess Spear he talked about included)
- They go for OR now most likely, makes sense to me.
- Missionary they could send, but its not soon, obv
- No cities on south coast to produce trireme vs Rome
- Diplo with Yos: 'hello / hello'
- Diplo with Rome: no reply
- England send them maps of Rome which he couldn share with us for obv agreement.
- Maybe something else I forgot.

I sent this to them.

Quote:Team Orgynized,

We have a no-scouting clause agreement until turn 90 as part of our open borders deal. We saw one of your warriors in our territory (without our consent, I believe). While we won't make a huge fuss out of this, we kindly ask that you move your warrior back up north to explore the coast. You were kind enough to let us move a scout through your lands solely for the purpose of unfogging the coast, so we are happy to return the favor as long as your warrior can stay to the north.

By the way, since it's approaching turn 90, we'll be in touch with you shortly about a revised set of agreements.

Sincerely,

Not sure we are 1st at pop. Rivals pop and land rounded down on F8 screen. Still, we are close with CareBears.
India has more potential to grow bigger with forges, religion and furs close.

- Team GG just planted city#5 in some ... hmm creative spot. With ice deer as food, maybe with some seafood also, but still. Its on screenshot from Dinos that Yuufo sent us.
- Chariot, ok. I didn't want to move before GG, cause we double move him if he wants to kill it this turn. But I doubt GG wants to start a war over 1 chariot far away from his land.
- City#8. We'll whip settler 8->5 this turn in CM and regrow to size6 fast. After that Pigs could be taken by MIT again, after worker done there.
- Ok, maybe delay this chop is better overall. I'll cancel it 1 turn from complition and we'll see.

Long term:
- After math done, workers should be faster to get. We still might want couple more cities in 90's. And LP team is silent, like Suttree told me.
- I'm not sure its a good idea to have Archer/Axe/Spear barb close to our borders right now. We have not much protection in our land.

Should we play turn now, before GG and double move him with chariot? We are not at war, but he didn't saw that chariot yet.

It does bug me when people join open diplomacy games yet they never use it. (I sent a PM to Haram/Barteq on Oct 31; Haram last logged in on Nov 5, so apparently he is deliberately ignoring our PM's, too.) I hope Team Orgynized doesn't come like that, since it means we're all but forced to cooperate with Care Bears so that we have one safe border.

Team GG settled another city. I'd bet at least one of their two newest cities has iron.

T81.

Well, we are not at war with Rome ... yet. Their chariot moved back toward Antium. Antium at size3 this turn.
Our chariot discovered Fish, not a good spot tho.

Can't saw LP's or Rome's new cities close. Should ask SutOxy about LP's city.

CM whipped settler, keep working 2sci at size5. I think we should plant city#8 with Corn, Copper and flood plains in BFC. 1N from your sign.
Delay Axe in Stanford, put 1t into library instead. Axe from UC will be done next turn.

Our demos sux, we are so behind from top food now.

SutOxy cpmpleted Calandar this turn. They are 2nd to connect 2nd happy resource, since their city was founded on Sugar.
