novice Wrote:We don't particularly need a mine there at the moment, so I'd suggest just building a road and then continuing east, with his next stop being a cottage 1E of NFD.

Well, it's more production for either PB or NFD, but I guess NFD already has one to work and we're looking to grow PB to fill up the cottages as fast as possible.

novice Wrote:The great lighthouse needs 200 hammers. We're industrious, so that's 127 base hammers for us. We'll get:
~30 hammers from lighthouse overflow
~30 hammers from forge overflow
~37 hammers from galley overflow (with forge multiplier)

The rest can be slowbuilt and chopped. So the turn after we whip a galley we should chop the silks and finish the great lighthouse in sailboats.

Back to being galley after forge now is it? lol

That was just to butter you up, I thought you'd vetoed a galley first, so I was planning to sneak it in when you weren't looking. (EDIT: If you know what I mean...)

You were so eager to explore the northern continent that I didn't have the heart to get in the way.

Heh, and I'm normally good at spotting innuendos...

I played T90. Pegasus let us know that TT has a chariot in his lands. Speed Limit is defended by a spear anyway. Also, trade routes are benefitting him too, he already got a free spread of Christianity.

Founding our ninth city defogged a river tile and happened to give us trade routes with Ruff.

I checked Ruff's trade screen, and his significant resources are gold, copper stone and horses. We could ask him at some point to borrow his horses, just to get some chariots out. I'm not sure when the best time would be, though.

Also, normally you can only have one trade route with any foreign city, but many of our cities have trade routes with Madrid...

Yeah, his naming convention is about as helpful as a rash. lol

Looks like we've got pretty good sight of the SE now with those latest axe moves (including a TT warrior, who won't be able to get too far without open borders). Barbs on this land are almost a thing of the past!

We should just offer Open Borders to TT, with a "Come on through" message, so that we get trade routes when we've defogged a route to him. Our axe in Pegasus's lands should continue west along the coast to do just that.

TT might cancel the OB later but chances are he will not bother or forget.

Good plan.

Incidentally, I will do a summary of our chat last night when I get home tonight.
