I have been trying to think of away of abusing the turn order in pbem and I simply cannot do it.

While we are considering turn order for future games ... how about this:
  • Turn order is based on player number (player #0 always goes first)
  • Alliances are always lumped together by the alliance member with the lowest player number
  • player number order must be followed for at least 2(!) turns prior to DOW
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

We didn't follow the rules that would have allowed us to claim the first half against the Ottomans, as troops were moved after the declaration of war.

Under the rules for two-party wars: Carthage moves before India/Ottomans, and England moves after India/Ottomans. I don't know what Egypt did in response to comment on that. If there are four separate time slots (which seems a little absurd) we'll definitely need to extend the timer. I really only have US East evenings and nights available during the week, so even if it's only a three-way split, 24 hours might be a little small.

And to the Inca:
English children protested having a constant reminder of that healthy vegetable, Spinach, being near their lands. Our hands were tied. alright

bow To reasonable comments during my overnight hours.

Krill, maybe think about the tentative deal we made with Carthage and let us know.

Cyneheard, if you guys want to have your own window, and Egypt and Carthage sign peace, we can have:
-->You join your allies under the Carthage plan: Egypt/Carthage/England -> Ottomans/India -> Reaction time.
-->You not join your allies under the Carthage plan: Egypt/Carthage -> Ottomans/India -> England -> Reaction time.
-->Krill vetoes the Carthage plan, but signs peace with Carthage: Carthage -> India/Ottomans -> Egypt/England ->Reaction time.

Question:

If we took option a), would our units have full flexibility in moving on T120?

Options b) and c) are based on Egypt's decision.

Carthage checking in for today:

First off, I have to echo sunrise in regards to the reasonableness thumbsup

Cyneheard Wrote:If we took option a), would our units have full flexibility in moving on T120?

My understanding is that you would move in the first "part" of the t119 stuff along with us (i.e. within the two hours left, Carthage bloc moves first with unpausing and pausing, and then India bloc moves second with unpause/pause, and then reaction time) and then you would move in the first half of t120 as per the split. Is that what you were thinking Sunrise?

Looks like we mostly need to hear from Krill though.

England would like to join in, we hereby claim the first half of the turn relative to India, and the second half relative to Ottomans.

That is all, will make official when game is unpaused.

England is claiming the second half relative to Ottomans, so they can claim that no matter what. The question, using the current rule set, if you can claim the first half of the clock against India, and you satisfy both requirements: you played t118 before India played t118,and you declared war on India so as the attacker you get the choice.

England has not done anything to break the rules; check civstats for turn played times for proof.

Last night, England moved its units at 2 hours on the clock.

So, has India moved its units yet? I'm still trying to wrap my head around what all's happened when.

I won't agree to splitting the turn 50/50; I followed the rules, no matter how junky they are, and I'm masochisticenough to stand by them.

My suggestionis that we adjust Indias' suggest of Carth>Ottomans/India>Egypt, to include England, as the rules have been followed for each war declaration. I think this should be the turn order from this turn onwards:

Carthage>Ottomans>England>India>Egypt

I'm posting from my table at a wedding right now, so it's tough to check civstats. Did england move before darrell's login this turn? If so I think krills turn order works. If they didn't I think we have Carthage -> india/ottomans -> England/Egypt.

@Carthage - I think your reaction time idea is good and goes a long way towards balancing turn splits. But apparently it doesn't have broad support.
