Also, if anyone wants to load the save I played, you can take a look around the board with my civ. Load the game as a hotseat. I'm not sure how to get it to load any other way without setting up your own pitboss*. Password: relax

I've been sitting here listening to the event tracker blow war horns for about the last 30 minutes and Azza is still around declaring on people. lol Lots of events to go...

*Commodore's pregame player intro of me before the game had some things correct, notably pebcac.

I opened the save, here's a few summary images. I'm sure you guys can fill in the details in your threads.

RNG decision:

Inadequate screen. I wasn't in the session but I agree a tie is most fair. Pretty sure I said that somewhere before in the event of reaching simultaneous VCs, among all the previous arguing.

On the final turn this was the victory screen:

Looks like TBS had been trying to get Basilisk Caves up to 22,000 culture so he could bomb it, but OH had been able to destroy the cathedrals to slow down progress.

This turn Basilisk Caves had reached 22,000 culture and would have been bombed to completion.

The 9 8 artists waiting to bomb:

Sorry, no review video this time, my capture program keeps crashing. banghead

GG well played, great effort by both sides.

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

Yeah, the dance choreography was that once either Elensafar gets 50k culture or Basilisk 22k TBS is ready. We were able to slow those cities enough so that TBS wasn't ready eot273, but both cities got ready with 300 extra culture eot274. As OH wrote in our thread, we had some spare spies and EPs that we could maybe have delayed Elensafar by one turn, but that would not have affected the overall timing. In the blitz it became pretty soon clear that TBS has enough headroom so that he is not in a risk of finishing after our spaceship while on the other hand we were able to fairly comfortably slow him enough so that eot273 finish was not possible. Of course there was some room for bad luck, misplays etc.

Btw, there wasn't really a coin flip, because TBS did not use his artists during t274 so we don't know who would have been the favorite of RNG. mischief

Oh well, pity for all the recent drama. Apart from that it was an epic game. I'll try to prepare a decent post-game analysis as an attempt to make up for the last days.
Finished:
PBEM 45G, PB 13, PB 18, PB 38 & PB 49

The earlier predictions of this game going down in flames definitely came true, just not as bad and in a way no one anticipated! All's well that ends well though, and congratulations to the winners! For all the drama later on, this had been an epic game to follow and I must say the ending have been quite excellent.
