Since there has been no response in six days... do we just want to end the game? I would love to continue, but I see no way to do so in a fashion that does not mess everything up.

I don't know really. If we can't fix it then we can't fix it but its a real shame.

If that is the case, maybe we can get a new map and restart, but i don't know how many of you would like that.

It looks like MB isn't going to send anything. If he does give us a password, I'd say we could restart it, but if not, then we're stuck calling it a game. Which is a shame.

Could you try a version of what worked over in PBEM11? Take the current save and load it into the Pitboss host program. The Pitboss host can kick Meatbalz into AI without needing his password. Use my old DLL to enable AI Takeover if needed. Have a new player log in to Pitboss, claim the civ, and set a new password. Save from within Pitboss (or as one of the players), and send that save along the way as PBEM.

I'm game for that, but have 0 idea of how to do so. I believe the save was last with Serdoa.

Nice to see that there's a hack for getting around a missing player when we (including myself, as the quasi-organizer of this game) aren't thinking these things through the first time around.

I think I can go through the motions for you. I need the save where Meatbalz is the next player up (email [email]erik dos486.com[/email]). This whole exercise will result in either me or AI playing one turn as meatbalz's civ, but that shouldn't be a problem. (I am not volunteering as a replacement player!) I'm not 100% sure it'll work, but don't see any reason why not at the moment. (I do know Pitboss can load a PBEM save with no admin password, we've done that before.)

I got the save. It turns out there IS an admin password set on it. Pitboss will not load it without the admin password. (The admin password is not blank; that works in Pitboss; I ran a test starting a PBEM with a blank admin password, and Pitboss could load it.)

So this won't work unless the map maker (Kyan?) can remember his admin password.
