At any rate, I just wanted to drop in and let everyone know I'll be around more often once more. It's going to take some time and tweaking to get everything set up again, but I hope to be around this weekend.
See you soon!
Welcome back ! (And nice computer -> no more waiting at loading screen! )

This "upgrade" has been a long time coming, so you can imagine my excitement. I wasn't thrilled about having the need to build this thrust upon me sooner than I was ready, but the prospect of building a brand new rig from the ground up was too tempting to pass up. Only took me a month!
All in all, I'm thrilled. I'm glad to have my own computer back up and running, and looking forward to seeing everyone in LoL. Unfortunately, we won't be able to crack jokes about loading LoL on my old Tandy 1000 anymore. Ah, well - trade-offs.

Good to have you back - I wondered where you'd gone! I think that means I inherit the 'worst computer for LoL' prize...

I find it disappointing how even experienced players don't buy wards on solo queue games. The got even cheaper now only costing 75golds. No excuse to not buy at least one ward all the time when shopping.

Nice rig Roland, and glad to see you bought a SSD as the boot/app drive.

I was looking at TreeEskimo's recent Alistar stream; he's grumpy that Roku doesn't know "the new trick" at the blue buff. He goes on to say that he's been boring people with reminders to use the new trick, but doesn't actually describe it.
Does anybody know more?
Based on the context, what I think he's talking about is a consequence of the way that tethering has changed in the new patch. Pure speculation follows: because the big golem doesn't necessarily reset when you drop aggro, you can now protect the jungler by having a laner get the first hit(s), then kite? The golem doesn't attack during pursuit, so you can buy some time by making him walk around needlessly?
Haven't had a chance to experiment with it myself.

Neutral creeps retarget after a while if the initial champion targetted runs far far away.
Not entirely sure on the mechanics of when it chooses to retarget, just when the champion moves out of the monsters fighting radius around its camp?

You can watch the first 5 minutes of TreeEskimo's newest cardmaster game, he explains it and this time Roku does it right ;-)

The change is really nice for junglers- that's a decent chunk of health that you save at the beginning when it's most important.
Have you guys seen much counter-jungling in your games? It really does seem like the jungler is in a very weak position early game if the other team manages to find him, just about any kind of disruption really seems to slow a jungler and destroy the ability to gank a lane easily.

Why does TreeEskimo rename some of the champs during his streams? For instance he uses Cardmaster, Cryophoenix and Pirate instead of TF, Anivia, and Gangplank. Is that "his thing" or is it some eclectic reference to something else I'm not aware of?
It's annoying at any rate.
