Adventure 48: 464 ships sunk

In game timer says 10:22. Plus several hours simming out the start and a test game. I figured I spent way more time on this than anyone else, so I'm excused if my writeup is longer than anyone else. lol

T-Hawk, yeah I nuked a lot, but only the countryside. And only sent my army to Persia to pillage. The first nuke gift hitting a city was an accident, but after that I ran with it. I could've just gifted him a tank or two.

I liked the scoring system, it seemed to make sense. I could have killed everyone on the far continent off and won the turn I killed everyone, but you closed that loophole. I was fighting Cyrus for the score lead for most of the endgame, but finally pulled ahead for good with the Internet techs.

On further reflection, academy first is better if you can still get the pyramids, library, and lighthouse later. You won't need representation till you pop the music golden age anyway.

Thought of an even more abusive tile. You can stack up the oasis gold mine railroad on a LAKE tile. Starts at 5-2-11, goes to 6-3-12 with lighthouse and Moai and Colossus. (However it appears this doesn't count as connecting the gold.)

I'm going to take a run at the game using two illegal tiles, just for kicks. Haven't decided exactly what ones yet.

How do you connect it though? Special kind of workboat? lol Or is it something that has to be set up in WB

Yeah, you set it up in WB ahead of time, by manually placing the gold and mine and oasis and railroad. The gold doesn't count as being on your trade network, but that's no problem. As another perk, being on water means the irreplaceable mine (workers can't improve oasis) can't be spy sabotaged.

I hardly think that it being an oasis is the limiting factor in workers not being able to improve it. Couldn't be something to do with the fact THAT IT'S A WATER TILE!!?!!!?!!!?? lol

No, oasis can't be improved on land either. Even on an uncheated map, workers can't cottage an oasis, can't workshop it, can't do any resource specific improvement like plantation or mine. If you make a mined oasis in WB, and the mine is destroyed, you can't replace it without WB.

Ah yes, the ol' underwater gold mine railroad with an oasis inside it tile. A classic lol

I don't think there's any way to beat fluffyflyingpig that way, though. With his score of 36 (!) you'd have to be at least 46 techs ahead, to win with the -10 penalty. That means landing the spaceship while the AIs are still stuck in the midaeval era. The cheating tiles are nice, of course, but I don't think they're powerful enough for that.
