[SPOILERS]Novice, Spacemanmf and Athlete4life10 are HUYANA CAPAC OF CHINA

novice Wrote:Why are we entitled to grab the sheep with yellow dot? It's in Pegasus half. But I agree the lay of the land kind of dictates it. Agree on bright green, that's a negotiating point. Red dot is kind of tentative anyway until we know if there's seafood down there. I would prefer Seven meets Pegasus and then scouts that area. The area north of the wheat isn't that important - we're not gonna steal Pegasus's area, and over towards Ruff isn't our first settling priority.

Yeah, I realised after I posted that the yellow dot 1W would encroach on Pegasus' side (and indeed encroaches on the middle line as it is). There isn't a rush with the borders anyway - we've got plenty of places to settle in the meantime.

Settling bright green 1E would mean Pegasus would probably have to attack across a river and it keeps our cities nice and tightly packed. And it would not need clearance from Pegasus since it would not encroach (not until the third ring anyway).

I don't think I have ever used the word 'encroach' quite so much as I have just now.

Heh heh.

Novice - can you post the WB save file that you used for the stitch map?

It's a regular SP save, just enter world builder from it.

I also created a spreadsheet in our GMail account with a micro plan until T50. I think we can delay mining the copper a few more turns, which means we can have Stonehenge EOT34 and found Cyan on T39. We'll have Oracle EOT50 and found White on T51. Our micro plan even includes an axeman build and pretty good development of Cyan (farmed corn, chopped/whipped granary, cottaged flood plains).

I'll just add my 2 cents in for the moment though it doesn't appear that you need it smile. Take the NAP with Ruff until T200. You probably won't be in a position to attack until probably about T150...give or take a dozen turns. I guess if you go with Cho-Ku-Nu's and not wait on getting Macemen it could even be a bit sooner. Might as well cover your backside with Ruff until then.

Still, that's a long ways off so there's no need to play fast and loose with anybody...with Pegasus I'd try and negotiate fairly but try and nick a bit more land than what we might be entitled to. If we can't then getting a 50/50 split should be made to sound that we're giving him something...so long as it can be done without patronizing him or sounding rude or something. Not my area of expertise lol

Speculating on beating Ruff in the late game? My guess is probably to try and do it via space. Leave a bunch of spies in your own cities and run counter espioinage against him and that should be the best you can do.

RE: Settling. Cyan 1W of it's spot on the dotmap which I think is what you've agreed to and then white dot as the 3rd city. Re-evaluate from there though I think that dot map will change as we go along.
Played in:
RBPB2 - Willem of Ottoman - 6th/10
RBPB3 - Joao of Inca 13th/17 or so???

Nice work on the micro plan. Refinement upon refinement!

I had a quick dig for more worker names:

Eli Elezra
Freddy Deeb
Gus Hansen
Howard Lederer

And for city names, I had a good think. The main poker hands are obviously:

High Card, One Pair, Two Pairs, Three Of A Kind, Straight, Flush, Full House, Four Of A Kind, Straight Flush, Royal Flush

Plus there are other hands such as:

Ten Two (the Doyle Brunson hands), Kojack, Trips, Gutshot Straight Draw (too many letters?), Pair Of Ladies, Big Slick, The Nuts, Pair Of Hooks, etc.

Actually, our capital should really be Pocket Bullets rather than Pocket Aces.

Athlete - I agree, let's go for T200.

I like the "nickname" hands, such as
Big Slick (A-K)
Dolly Parton (9-5)
Doyle Brunson (10-2)
Dead Man's Hand (aces and eights)
Speed Limit (5-5)
Computer Hand (Q-7)
Broadway (A-K-Q-J-10)
Wheel (A-2-3-4-5)

Also The Nuts is a great city name.

Renaming the capital is ok.

Agreed on T200 NAP. Pretty sick to sign such a NAP on T27 though... Almost feels unfair to the other players. But it could come back to bite us, so I guess it's alright.

Haha, ok, let's go with those. We'll have to save The Nuts for our best city site, or perhaps when (or if) we capture another civ's capital... lol

I guess a long NAP is a bit unfair, but hey Civ is not just a war game. We can all peacefully co-exist! Anyway, they'll never find out (until the end).

Played T27. Nothing much happened on the diplo front, signed a 173-turn NAP.

Moved Seven west. Next turn we meet Pegasus. We can then head southeast to scout the shore by the pigs.

Four headed homewards and our workers have started clear-cutting the area around Pocket Aces.

Yeah, I loaded the save (I saw you'd got it so look but not touch) and not much happening.

So, Pegasus got growth to size 3, ad hoc researched Agriculture and Ruff discovered Bronze Working?
