[Spoilers] Defining the phrase "€˜Hung Like a Horse"€™: Pb & the Kuriotates

How about "the bad guys"? smile

Or if you really want a pun (not that it makes much sense in this context), you could call them "the axes of evil".

You'll get a recommendation from me after I get a current turn update from you wink

Turn 185:

As hinted in the previous post, the Svartalfar declared war this turn and razed Gaene and Ukanever.

Total economic loss for the Kuriotates: 4 gpt
He shouldn’t have received much cash from them either.

Flew Kes over the Khazad lands, Cull didn’t attack Vanilla Ice between turns.
Military advisor counts 10 warriors and 1 trebuchet in that screenie.

Turnlog shows that the Calabim received a motherlode event at one of his gold mines (nice to have multiple sources of gold!).
I haven’t bothered looking it up but it probably means free cash.
RNG Gods, please cast your light over here.

So what does the vampire stack look like?

About the same, just the extra 3 ritualists (which I think still have a promotion in hand) providing the threat.
Oh and the 31+ vampires.

So where to start?

Well, those chariots offend me for sure.
Can’t kill the top one safely, there’s still 3 more chariots in Acaia, but the lone buggy 1N of FML is beyond dead.
Elatus steps up.

Way too much damage for a 99% battle, but nevermind.
He sprints back to the Radonnor fort and heals a bit via Sirona.

Next up, Sareln needs a slap.
Unfortunately I can’t reach any of his cities (smart move by Bob sticking the spectres on the cow), but that hunter can die.

A good trade for me, hammers must be at a premium for the Svartalfar.
Dictys won the battle without taking any damage, so there’s no need to sprint him out of range of the hunter to the South.
That other hunter can either run or die next turn.

I then evacuated FML’s garrison to the Radonnor fort and and recruited a few mercenaries in the settlement behind (can only be done in cities).

The mage (reached 17xp this turn) and an adept started work on the Metamagic node.
As per a lurker’s suggestion a while ago, I renamed the likely-to-die worker to something appropriate.

Quick note about the Radonnor fort: currently provides 10 + 25 (hill) = 35% defense to units stationed in it. In two turns it will upgrade to a castle for a total 50% defense.
The advantage forts/castles/citadels have over cities is that City Raider promotions (like the ones Bob has on several of his vamps) don’t function against them, nor can catapults etc collateral the defense bonus down.
On the downside, I can’t cast Wall of Stone on a fort.

Sprinting all the CAs in Riedquat down, then topping them up with Courage from an adept:

Hemah and Saverous are at the Staging post, just West of Riedquat, roughly 2t travel away.

Distributing the CAs and renaming FML gives this picture:

There are 20 CAs in the fort, a further 9 and the mercenaries behind, I’ve kept the highly promoted CAs (such as Mimas) at the back.
Again, the best Bob can do is throw spectres at them, better that the lower levels get some more xp (possibly levelling up) while the highly promoted doorknockers remain undamaged.

Ending turn completed a couple more units, cash rushed the adept in KK, put a turn into the CoA at Caledor because of overflow.

Overall analysis:
I know I shouldn’t be glad to see an invading stack on my borders, but so long as I can hold onto the mana node for enough time (and prevent it being of any use to Bob), I’m happy that he chose FML over Zaonce.
I’ll continue to execute rolling retreats until Hemah arrives, at which point if the Calabim want a final showdown in the Blasted Lands, I’ll give him one.

Lots of carnage in there.

Cute.

Sounds kinky!
...I'd like to call upon our existing deal and request a loan of Mind mana now.

Warm Regards,
Pb, Has several very expensive lawyers waiting outside Boy-King
A note from Selrahc with the last turn confirmed that Sareln had taken out those two settlements.
Selrahc Wrote:I see you lost a couple of border cities... Are things going okay? I've been sending troops to Fairytale, but they're currently in transit. Should have 3 Priests, 6 mages and 4 rangers sitting there at the end of 4 turns. I've put the Feral Bond plan on hold for the minute, to fund upgrades. Rangers are annoyingly expensive to upgrade from hunters, but it looks like we're going to need them.
Let’s try this again…with some feeling.
Pb Wrote:Hey,

Sareln declared war this turn and burned two settlements in the South!

Bob also moved a huge stack of more than 30+ vampires (+30 spectres), 3 ritualists + royal guards & chariots up to Feiss Mabdon.
I've had to abandon that settlement and retreat to the fort 1S of Radonnor.
The vampires are hugely promoted, all have Formation + Mobility+ at least Combat III, several have more, with quite a few City Raider III etc! yikes

I've uploaded a screenshot here: http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/2641/...ot0093.jpg
It looks like he's left his Moroi/Bloodpets & Rosier behind for defensive duties.

So please, definitely get upgrading those hunters, and completing the road between Zaonce and Fairytale would be good also.
I would suggest trying to position units so they can reinforce Zaonce within one turn.
If you want to move units in there/ one unit to get visibility, by all means my borders are open.

At this time, Zaonce, Riedquat and the Radonnor fort are my three main defensive points.
I'd like to hold the Radonnor fort because it protects the mana node there, I'd prefer to avoid str 7.5 (5 base + 50%) spectres, but if Bob chooses to push on then I'll have to abandon that also.
The next place to retreat to will be Karond Kar, meaning the entire South would be his.

Help!

Maybe that will light a fire up the Winter King’s butt. lol

Needs a CON in front of it. ^^

EDIT: Another one:
'Integration of Naughty, Foolish, Impetuous Dwarves, Elves and Leeches' (INFIDEL).
Always fun calling people Infidels. lol

The problem is the same as my FODDER one though - it's maybe just a bit too long.
3-4 letters is the sweet spot, eg Pitboss 2 with the CoW.

Would have been great if there were a ton of axemen and dwarves involved.

5 minutes! A new post-speed record!

I'd say the front runners at the moment are:
  • JPF - Judean People's Front
  • The Combine
  • MISLED (Multitude of Inevitably Servile Leeches, Elves and Dwarves)
If anyone has any other ideas, or particularly likes one of the above, speak up!

Somewhat Poorly Led Armies of Twilight

League of Suckers (And Revenants)

Actually not sure about those, but I think an acronym containing "suckers" would be ideal. The Combine is good too. (Do you happen to have any Combine Harvesters handy? wink)

We have a winner! The LoS has been born.
And it just so happens, that whenever I feel like typing a few extra letters, they can be the LoS'ers also! lol

Yessirree, I like that. rolf

Did you honestly think we would miss the little OO priest sign you have on that lake near the fort? Or did you just think Bob would never think of it wink

I'm amused to note you noticed Buffy's immunity to haste before you needed 'her' in battle. I was hoping that would have involved some indiscriminate cursing at some point!

I think you have much to fear from the LOS'ers.
