To my surprise there is dead end in the SW. Warrior continues towards SE. doesn't reveal anything significant. It might be that we are "paired" with Warlord then.
And I noticed that also > and < are forbidden characters.

I guess we should prioritize settling towards Warlord then especially if we can lock this area down. Its too bad he has hoplites -_-'.
Maybe we can HA rush at some point if we have to fight him early on.

Aggressive settling to claim the gold should be considered thoroughly. We could get 3 warriors in the area and we could send our lone worker there and probably could settle ~T27 (haven't tested/counted exactly), if we would try to settle our 1st city there. I'm now regretting I ended up researching Fishing instead of BW since the positioning of the Copper is crucial. I'm afraid they can get Phalanxes in the area before we can land Axes there. Of course we could switch to Archery now, but chops and slavery are probably too important to be dealyed any further.

Good news. We've gold closer than I thought. I think it is time to go back to original plan to settle on the plains hill in the west and forget this pink dot nonsense .
I've clearly screwed the start a bit with my extra warrior and put 1 turn on warrior for safety thing. Most of the others are already size 2 and it takes 3 more turns from us. Well hopefully snowball hasn't started to roll yet. At least we're not planning to participate on early wonder or religion races.

I dunno, if he doesn't settle close enough, we could do a culture war. If we are indeed on an island, it'll come down to who can do a better job of claiming good/more land.
Also, I vote NW. Lets see if there is another food resource out there.

I still doubt we're on island although that is a possibility. My guess is that there might be narrow land bridge in the west or alternatively we can connect to others thorough north.
Scout to NW seems best. I've also started to think, if we should somehow prepare, if Warlord settles aggressively towards us. We could concentrate our warriors in the most probable area.
btw. We got lucky forest spread on a hill SW from our capital.

;-) has to turn around. There is no route behind the Warlord's city.
Scout finds a land bridge and there is also crab tile potentially changing the settling plan.
'_' has born and heads towards Warlord and reveals tiles in the SE when he gets there.

Huh, it definitely might be worth it in the long run. The only real change would be 1 W of Peak. 2 Food, Gold, and Fresh Water and canal potential. Problem is that it is 3 turns to reinforce but it should be quite easy to defend and would hard to disable even it was besieged as SODs usually can't pillage ocean. It will be fun to work 2 food resources with slavery, woot.

+useful Moai city. So tempting. No plains hill and further away are main weaknesses. Maybe we should get greedy and settle 2W from the peak.

9 Tiles with Moai which is pretty good considering 2 of them have food resources. We really have some strange cities. Both our cities will be Hybrid Production/Commerce I guess.
