RBP4 [SPOILERS] - Shaka of Zulu (sunrise089, regoarrarr, and friends)

Haha, I couldn't help but laugh when your scout revealed those unnatural ocean crabs that that would have been unusable had you settled in place.

Anyways, GLH looks incredibly strong assuming that it's archipelago and everyone else is unconnected by land. On the other hand, I can't help but think that a lighthouse will slow you down, there are no 4F tiles to turn into 5F tiles. On yet the other hand, it looks like there's plenty of good city sites available, so you could always hold off the ReX for after your new cities start with a free +3-6 commerce.

I chose your thread because Sulla vouched for you back in RBPB2, and the 1-2 pages later you got stomped by chariots. I wanted to see what the fuss about. I want to see you guys ~*shine*~.

The map looks like it might be a circle with penisulas branching off with the starts whats your thoughts on the map

I believe dsp got the GLH in his second city on T62 in PB1, but the tech pace might have been faster.

The tech pace was DEFINITELY faster, but you're right that he got it AWFUL quickly. I remember thinking about building it but before I could even research Sailing it seemed like he already had it built

I read dsp's PB1 thread (I think the first time I read it - I uh didn't have a very graceful end to PB1 lol).

He didn't update quite at regoarrarr-levels but he was no sunrise either, at least not in the early game.

He actually got GLH on EOT58 in his 2nd city with 7 forest chops. Tech pace was definitely faster though.

I checked my spreadsheet and in conjunction with the things he posted in his thread, here was his basic timeline:

Starts with Wheel and Mining
T14: BW
T21: Agriculture
T26: Fishing
T34: Pottery
T44: Sailing

Settler was built on T36 and founded the coastal city on T38. He had 3 workers out chopping.

His coastal city was on a plains hill and had plains copper as well.

He whipped his lighthouse on T52, overflowing into GLH

Crazy weekend for me - the wireless card in my laptop was (is) wonky, so I tried to play the turn on my other computer, but I blue screen'd. I think (hope) I actually played the turn (moved the units) as neither I nor sunrise logged in afterwards.

Turn has rolled to be T23, and the only 2 score increases were plako and moogle, our 2 creative civs, getting 8 points for 12 more land tiles. No techs nor pop increases

This was my report from T21. WarlordDr did go to size 3 the next turn, but the other 2 (along with plako) are very likely to be building Worker or Settler

There was one issue from T22 demographics. Luddite got a tech, but I can't figure out what it was. Global soldier count went up only 4000, so it can't be Bronze Working, but it could be a range of other things.

He starts with Agriculture and the Wheel, and researched Hunting in the great Hunting research of Turn 7.

Nothing else makes sense - so I'm going to go with Animal husbandry but he delayed it a few turns because he wouldn't be pasturing the cows till this (last) turn. It's a hack but I don't know what else to guess. Let's see if he gets Fishing or something else really quickly here (meaning he partially researched it before finishing AH)
