[SPOILERS]Novice, Spacemanmf and Athlete4life10 are HUYANA CAPAC OF CHINA

Ooh a spot the difference!

We may sacrifice a bit of growth in NFD but we get (i) an axe (woo!) and (ii) a pop boost in a new city.

Heh, you should be able to see the difference now.

I'm also leaning towards getting an axe from NFD.
I have to run.

Either that or we beeline the Parthenon in there...

So what are we doing with EPs now?

And are we discussing borders with Ruff?

Err.. Diplomacy and espionage and stuff is your domain, right? I didn't do anything about that. smoke

Parthenon is probably not on the top of our wish list. smile
It does rank higher than the Temple of Artemis, though.

But we're totally getting the Mausoleum, the Lighthouse, the Library and the Colossus, right?

No worries. We should aim for 43 EPs on both TT and ad hoc, then split them between all four.

And we can just ask Ruff what his border city plans are.

That's what you might call a full house, eh.

Well, we've had some C&D, now it's time for some E&D.

Espionage

I loaded up the save to see the current position:

vs Ruff: 78/76
vs Pegasus: 54/64
vs ad hoc: 0/30
vs TT: 0/30

We put 4 EPs against TT this turn so I would expect that to be 0/34 when we get the turn back. Next turn, let's switch full EPs to ad hoc for one turn. We can then split them equally between ad hoc and TT until we get them both past 43 EPs. At that point, we can switch to equal distribution across all 4 players to avoid any issues.

We will struggle to compete on EPs with Ruff when he gets his Great Spy (which, based on getting the Great Wall EOT46 won't arrive until EOT96 unless he speeds it up) and with Pegasus when he gets his early Ziggurats.

Diplomacy

Ruff:

NAP until T200. Unique espionage agreement. We research - he steals.

We should ask him about his border plans. So something like:

"Have you worked out where you are going to put your cities on our border yet? Your third city is going 1N of the corn, right?"

In the interests of transparency, do we exchange any other information with him? For example, that we are going for the Hanging Gardens.

Pegasus:

NAP until T100 plus rolling 10T extension. Border city locations agreed.

Nothing to discuss at this point, but we should consider when/if to open borders with him. There is no point until trade routes can be established really. Once we do have open borders, do we want a no scouting clause in there?

Ad hoc

No current agreements.

I would like to ask him a couple of things. Firstly:

"Do you have AH? If not, we can tell you where horses are, if you like."

Secondly:

"It looks like you took out about 4 impis or so without taking a scratch (or did you lose a warrior?). Well done, sir!"

Answers to those two questions will hopefully give me a bit of power graph information. No rush to open borders.

TT

No current agreements.

Not sure we really want to remind him about losing impis, so nothing to say here really. No rush to open borders.

Right then, I think I may have figured out the power graph anomaly.

Looking at TT's power graph in a little more detail, there is no sign of his T33-T34 lose warrior/build warrior combo.

So, it seems that the demographics allow for an inter-turn loss of warrior, whereas the power graph rolls it over into the next turn.

Hence for the demographics, TT's warrior loss is evident, whereas for the power graph it just happens to net off against the warrior build the next turn.

That would mean that ad hoc did not research AH and lose a warrior, otherwise we would have seen another anomaly.

And it may explain why there is a difference at the 55k/57k level if he lost a warrior to barbs. But I need to go to work, dammit.

I'm confused, but I'll take your word for it.

Agree on your E&D plans, suggest you pick up the next turn and execute those plans. It's a pity the turn won't come in until tomorrow, though.

Ok, don't take the piss.

Okay, enough joking about the save.

If you do play this turn, feel free to change NFD to an axe. I think the way to manage NFD is to one-pop whip the axe, chop into the granary, and then one-pop whip the rest of the granary.
