Lord Parkin Wrote:Greetings Plako,

Great to meet you at last! Our Warrior encountered the borders of what appears to be your capital city this turn. He's next to a Worker, but don't worry, you can trust that we will not be making any sneaky moves. smile (We actually saw your borders about half a dozen turns ago, but frustratingly couldn't get close enough to make contact until just now.)

Wow, four cities already - you're not doing too badly for yourself at all! One you even managed to nick from your neighbour, so well done on that. We've been expanding slower ourselves due to building Stonehenge, obviously, but we're slowly catching up.

For your information, our capital is about 35 tiles directly north of yours, so it appears you are officially our southern neighbour (and us your northern neighbour). Seems like we both have plenty of room to expand, as well as separate issues to focus on near us (WarriorKnight being your neighbour; Luddite being ours).

All in all, it looks like there's great potential for us to work together, given the lack of any border tensions between us in the forseeable future. We'd be happy to agree to a long-term non-aggression pact with you if you'd like (to 1 AD or beyond), although with the distances between us it seems a NAP right now is more of a pointless formality than anything else. Still, it's usually a solid basis for cooperation, so if you're interested just let us know.

Looking forward to doing business with you in future.

All the best,
Lord Parkin

My response

Quote:Hi,

Nice to meet you too and thank you for not threatening my worker.

I'm alright with the NAP until 1AD although I consider it also pretty unnescessary in this case. However if you want it, I'm happy to accept.

I would prefer continuing our conversation on email/chat. My email address is .. and I can use that or MSN for chatting. You're still on my MSN list so that might be easiest for us although I'm more frequently available on gmail.

Best regards,
Plako

NAP until 1AD signed with Lord Parkin. Also earlier I made a similar deal with Mackoti. I took a small risk and moved the settler and worker without protection. Axe is 1 turn behind them.

I switched all cities to build Granaries and I really need those gold tiles online to get my economy running again. I'm very tempted to disband couple of our warriors to save some coins, but didn't do that yet.

I disbanded our warrior SW from our capital. There isn't much food near silver.

WK settled during previous turn and he has horses close by.

Minor dot mapping effort. Southern sites are not that great, but we need to hook up horses and silver in reasonable time frame. Northern sites are very good, but the positioning of them could probably be improved so feel free to suggest. I suspect these won't be our border cities so positioning on flat land should be alright.

btw. There are quite a few nations that have settled their 4th city during the civstats blackout. e.g. our neighbour Nakor.

Current progress of this game is really good. Yet another turn passed.

Brb has been founded. Population raises are lowering the unit supply costs although new city increased the maintenance costs.

"Tuned" demographics wink. 1st Gold mine ready. 2nd is coming next turn and then I think we might be pretty close to #1 in real GNP assuming we work both of them.

Nope just his. I've been setting our points towards Nakor and Luddite mainly to even up balance with them.

Just for the record I'm thinking we should aim for Statue of Zeus. We are going to be in an very strong position once we fill out. Might be worthwhile to get the anti-dog pile wonder at some point.

Statue requires 4 monuments and ivory would be good to have when building it. I like the effects and cultural value so we could consider that.

Another gold mine ready, but I decided to grow tyvm with just hooked up cows.

We also met Rego and he seems quite an expert of using acronyms wink. They also built GLH and have just 2 cities. I haven't seen any islands so the value of GLH is diminshed. He also seems to think that we're directly south from him and would like to hear about our debacales with Warlord. I'll probably enlighten him.
