Quote:No problem - we just revolted to Slavery ourselves a few turns ago. I noticed that you moved your scout SW - you've actually gone too far west at this point to get down to the WK landbridge. You need to move SE this turn (T70) - 2S of you is coast.
And I agree with you on the land division - it's too early for a border agreement at this point. I would be willing to share if / when we found a city further east of our current lands if you would be willing to share when you found a city further up into Centralia?

Here's a nice screenie from Dave, our exploring warrior in the SW.
Note the dark green borders south of the copper! That be plako's borders!
So we'll definitely want to figure out where our borders lie in the isthmus of land between us.

As you can see, we will have AH next turn and we'll also pick up plako's graphs next turn as well

Quote:Well right - I knew that you had already met everyone (we are missing only luddite currently) - but still I thought you might be interested to directions to where certain civs' lands might be.
As for Parkin, again, I don't mean to single him out - that really has been a pretty consistent topic of conversation with a few other civs. But no worries - it sounds like we're on the same page.
As for actual types of cooperation, I'm not really sure what we can do at this stage in the game other than agree to have "close ties", whatever that means :-). Or maybe we could do some sort of settler for worker exchange, leveraging your imperalistic and our expansive traits? Seems like it probably wouldn't be worth it due to transit time at this point though.
Speaking of that - our warrior Dave found your borders this turn! At least we see them off in the fog - this city's borders are 1S of a copper tile. We had been wondering where this narrow neck of land went. So I guess at some point we'll want to discuss where borders lie and what each of our interested "claims" might be along that narrow neck of land. For now though there's plenty of land in between and plenty of land in other directions (at least for us and I assume for you)
I saw that you have Writing so I have proposed Open Borders in-game. I don't think either of us have the ability to get trade routes with the other yet but at least that's a nice way of "cooperation", even if it is mostly symbolic ;-)
anyway we'll talk to you soon

To continue my threadjack (not that rego minds) and test my understanding, there is no advantage to finishing the Granary early, but there is a disadvantage to finishing the Granary late, or rather a missed opportunity to take advantage of food storage.
I swear Sirian posted at the very early days of Civ's release that they "fixed" some issue in Civ 3 where you could lose an entire box of food if you mis-timed your Granary, and that in Civ you no longer had to think about when the Granary was finished. But I guess not.

Well in Civ 3 you got the entire half-box of food as long as you finished the granary before growth, so that was a much more binary implementation.
But I'm sure you know this and are just trolling for posts.
I have to run.

Yes. If you had a ton of hammers and using them did not impact your fpt (which in practice is not the case since usually using high-hammer tiles means you have less food), it doesn't matter whether your food box is at 0/24, 1/24 or 12/24 when the granary is built.
If it's more than 12/24, you lose some of the stored up food.
And you're right that Sirian posted something to that effect, and it is true that the penalty for mis-timing the granary is less than it was in Civ3. But he's not completely correct.
If you ever have (a ton of) spare time, read Sirian and Sullla's RB-1 Cuban Isolationist SG again. There's quite a few things about the game that they state as fact that are just not true (and weren't even true in the released game). Which doesn't mean it's not an awesome game / writeup and there are a lot of good nuggets in there as well
