Like a hot wind Varn Gosam of the Malakim [SPOILERS]

Malakim forces crossed the border of infidel territory today and liberated the city of Golden Yurt.

As you can see above, Mr. Yellow decided to abandon the city. There is a C2/Guerilla on the hill NE of Golden Yurt.

General Martok took the city:

The warrior died, but did enough damage for one of my c1/mobility swordsmen to kill the hilltop warrior at high odds (after picking up the axe).

A mobility sword and mobility warrior cleaned up the fleeing garrison units.

I'll have a warrior and a sword on the sheep tile next turn ready to threaten his copper (not yet roaded) and Astrum.

P.S: the odds-makers in Evermore were already giving Gilden the odds against an attack by General Martok. However, they were assuming Gilden to be defending a hill city, such as Torrolerial; however, as our current pact is excluding the possibility of this scenario happening, that is now a moot point smile

P.P.S: Of course, the confidentiality is only related to leaders of other nations in the actual world of Erebus. Those beings called "lurkers" living on the other side of the great glass barrier are always assumed to be omniscient, anyway smile[/COLOR]

The very presence of General Martok was enough to scare the defenders out of the city. Mobile units hunted down the former garrison in the plains outside Golden Yurt. smile

So far the war goes well but I expect a stalemate for the next 8-10 turns while I pillage him and pick off soft targets.

I'm still exploring but right now it looks like there is a biggish piece of desert between your borders and mine. Somewhere in the middle of that (currently Giant infested) desert strikes me as being a good place to put a Malakim/Lanun border into place.

Now that you have sailing, would you be interested in resource trades? I currently have surplus gold and sheep available for trade and am interested in exchanging them for equivalent resources.

Oh, that Giant covered desert stretches all the way to your borders? Yikes! I didn't manage to get a scout far at all into the desert, although it was only scorpions at the time I gave up. I currently have one city at the south end, and little interest in acquiring more; maybe one more city northwards. On the other hand, I view the coastline with pure avarice, especially those portions where there are sudden bends or protrusions that allow the working of more water tiles. Perhaps we could come to an arrangement for extra coast in exchange for ceding desert?

I would certainly be interested in trading resources. At the moment, all I have extra is Crabs, which I could definitely see trading for Sheep; I expect one of my near-term cities to have an extra Pearls available as well which could look quite nice in a golden setting.

There is a ton of desert on this map. frown To the northeast of our peninsula the desert stretches out east and southwards. The southern desert is especially dangerous as it harbours the Guardians Of Pristin Pass as well as several lairs and forts. Further east lies an area of floodplains. I have been told that the Elohim can be found on the eastern side of the floodplains. It should be possible for you to navigate a workboat around that eastern shoreline. If you do, I could try to introduce you to the Elfs. Their homeland is said to be north of the Elohim. I have found them to be very reasonable people to deal with.

I have plans to settle one more city at the north-western corner of the desert. From the looks of the rest of the land down there neither of us is going to be in much of a hurry to settle it.

I'll offer you the crab sheep trade once the turn gets to me. Gold for pearls once you get your next Pearl resource hooked up.

He'd already offered the crab/sheep trade in game once t87 got to me so the trade is now active. +1 health is worth +1f in GLT right now and will be worth +1f in Golden Shack in a couple of turns. Running Conquest 1f=1h so I'll be getting an extra 2h/turn from this deal. At least until t94 when I swap civics again.

Turn 88 quick update: Finished Form of the Titan at end of turn. jive

Cut off shipments of illegal bronze weapons to the rogue nation known as the Bannor. This had the unfortunate effect of cutting off commercial trade routes between Mardoc and Mr. Yellow.

It's currently looking like a pillaging war for the moment but we'll see what happens.

The battlefield turn 88:

Unless I can entice him into a mistake, this is going to be a pillage fest. He can kill my exposed c1/shock warrior but it should cost him at least one warrior dead and one exposed to General Martok and co. Bagging two of his copper warriors for the price of one of mine is a better deal than I'll get attacking them in a city. I'm pretty certain that I've cut his copper connection from Mardoc so any replacements will be str.3 unless he can get some copper elsewhere.

If he doesn't attack then he either has to cover his workers or miss his forest chop.

If he sits tight I'm going to start pillaging his mines and farms next turn.

Around Astrum I'm simply aiming to disrupt him (and pillage his copper mine). If he wants to finish his road next turn he'll need to cover his worker with one of the two str. 3 warriors in Astrum. I probably won't take a shot if he does cover, the odds won't be good enough to justify risking both units.

Sure I can do a domestic update as well. smile

I'll be switching either turn 93 (the earliest I can switch) or t 94 (if my micro calculations are correct I'll be able to spit out 2-3 more 6 xp units by sticking an extra turn).

My GNP will be exploding between t 94-96. smile
