RBP4 [SPOILERS] - Shaka of Zulu (sunrise089, regoarrarr, and friends)

regoarrarr Wrote:Okay Turn 75 played. I wanted to do some MM at Vine here. Do we go max growth to get to size 6, and then triple whip the settler?

Why didn't you put the mine on the grassland hill by the river? It even has a road on it so you would save Worker turns.

Anyway, I like your scenario 2 as well. I don't think you lose hammers since you are at +1 pop (30H right there). If you don't need the WB soon, why not overflow into a Library?

Actually in either case, I'll be at size 3 - size 5 double whip or size 6 triple whip.

And yes, I think it's likely that I will overflow into the library - I started with the workboat pre-settler because I didn't have Writing.

The real question is IW next or Math?

You said scenario 2 lost one food, so does that mean even with the smaller whip the box is smaller?

The only reason for IW is military, which at this point doesn't seem as important to you. Mathematics leads to several important techs, as well as boosts forest chops. So I'd think Math(s).

Military is important, but axes+impis are solid. Swords are nice if you want to attack out against like a HA+cat stack, but with any sort of raid warning we should spot a cat stack incoming I'd hope.

The idea with IW is we have a decent amount of jungle in the area, especially where we want to put our southern "blocker" city

So I don't know what the crap happened with luddite / whoever. He seemed to indicate that it would be available to deduce from the turn log and CivStats, but I don't see anything...

Why don't you read the UN-thread? I guess every player is allowed to read it, at least that is what the first posting in it states.

Thanks - I was confusing the UN thread with the email / tech issues thread. I have read the UN thread now and it all makes sense

I didn't know you had jungle!

Email from Moogle

Quote:You may recall from an earlier message that the Tribes of Somnus intended to settle locations south of our current border. As per our agreement, I'd like to notify you that this time is approaching, and two locations (one on the tile south of the wines, the other to its east) are planned to be settled in the near future. These are quite simply the most attractive sites to place new cities at the moment; the city after that is planned due north again and the jungle will likely impede further expansion south until Iron Working is researched.

Here's a pic of the area

So since we seem to be getting a bit closer in terms of borders, is there any interest in at least discussing where we think the border between our two civs will end up? Or still too early?
