To do a good sumay i wil start with the initial toughts about the game.I picked this because i wanted to build GLH,well the start showed me is not posible, ichanged plans again and tryed for Stonehenge, failed again.
So seeing the map near me is low comercial potential i said MIds are the best , as I found 4 spots with good food, 4 libraries and 8 scientist=60 science at 0% at 500 BC which is not bad in my opinion.
Well everithing was good i made strong NAP with neighbours , and setling agreement, because you know mids cost me 3 setlers and 3 axes.everithing was super until Luditte apears with a pair worker setler in the area wich from my point of view was clearly mine.If wasnt for the mids that area was already setled so Mids could prove very costly this game.
Well when i opned borders with ludite he asked todont scout him right now, clear hint that he is preparing something, why i opened then well because i have more cities than moogle and i intend to setle 2 more in 6 turns so the routes are good.i wil not let my guard down i will keep on building units in that area.Actualy is somehow nice because my empire will have 2 sides :East wil be military and west: science. So yes i will play like always war with ludite on that area but without war declared.
I want to be good friend with Moogle even making him some concesion because he speaks ok with me and dont patronize me.So at some point i can actualy fight Ludite.
Well like players i dont like at all Lord Parkin every time when he write says something did you see plako demos, are scary.Man who believe he fools?
Moogle is super ok, same plako, and Rego wich in the begining came with demand dont scout there , and now they want open borders but i keep telling them well you dont let me scout then so no open borders(funny stuf).
Lurkers may ask why i didn't put the gold city diferent, well i needed the bost for science and hapines right away.Setling for example to get fish, pig and gold would got gold online 18 turns later wich was to much to consider it.
I still have place ther for a nice wich will came soon.
As you know i finished Mids 2 turns ago, not having slavery cost me a litle bit, but anyway in the begining i worked on my cities high food or production tiles so slavery is not realy appealing. Now is diferent already slaved Granaries in capitol and Dudu georgescu, until now the best city wich i saw on the map(yes krill put me some nasty peaks, and a gold source wich you cant compare with ludites for example:fish and gold in first ring, but he gave me a great city long term, why you didnt put gold there:neenernee)
I starded to reseach math but i am still piling gold until i have 2 libraries done and waiting for other player to finish researching it so i can get the bonus.I will chop only 2 forests so not a big loose.
After maths i have 2 ways to go:
1. Curency ,COL,Metal casting very strong from economycal point of view(becasue some fast courhose will alow me to expand to 11 even more cities to 1 ad and still having avery stong economy).
2.Construction,HBR,Archery, metalcasting ,machinery this path is named LUDITTE and i think is clear why.
Well if Ludite dindt mess with me,and was peace from next 30 turns i am sure that my empire was competitiv with Plako's.Well this way i think i will go with the midle of the pack and try to hve more fun and not doing so much math and scenarios.

Great summary! Its good to know where your mind is in the game. I'm pretty much the last person that has the right to ask for updates, so thanks for indulging me .

Thanks for the detailed post. I think the lurkers get the feeling you are doing interesting things technically, but its difficult to pick up your exact tactics, so the more details you can give us on your thoughts and build strategies the better

Two more cities was founded on the West side of our empire - one of it claiming the gems too ...

Our "diplomacy" with Luddite reached surrealistical points like in the following emails-echange :
Luddite advanced an incredible "offer" :
Quote:That's kind of you to offer. The problem is, if it's just temporary, then I won't be able to grow the cities for very long before it runs out. What about selling me the gems? Say, 10gpt for gems?
Macedon responded :
Quote:hi,
Lets say 12 gold per turn and we have a deal.
regards,
Mackoti
For which received the following response :
Quote:Hmm I guess I can do that. But, I'd need a guarantee that you'd keep trading me the gems for at least 100 turns.
This is ... purely and simply insane - as both our teams realise that a war is inevitable ( and it will start quite soon - probably in next 15-20 turns ).
Regarding this aspect :
Quote:Construction,HBR,Archery, metalcasting ,machinery this path is named LUDITTE and i think is clear why.
I could safely bet that Luddite has also a "Mackoti-path/strategy" - and it's clear why. :neenernee
Due to some real-life problems I didn't had time to log-in to check the actual situation - but I have the feeling that we overextended a little bit in the West ... Macedon, could you provide some information about the status in that area ? Was the scouts put in place to prevent a "surprise amphibious attack" ?

Hello guys !
Macedon - I don't know if I'll be able to login next day(s) so I wrote this message in order to communicate with you too ...
I wake up really early today ( it will be a busy day for me as I plan to sign the selling contract for my apartment - let's hope that I'll have a good day ) and I analysed a little bit more the actual situation, considering especially our "Eastern-trouble" area.
Uploaded is an overview of our ( still small ) empire on which I marked the possible landing/invasion spots ...
Fortunatelly our capital isn't exposed to a "direct landing" and also, considering the presence of our scouting-warriors and axemans near new-founded cities, I'll almost exclude the possibility of a land-attack ( even if it still possible that Luddite will try a "metodical approach" if he will overhelm us with his military - but this is less possible ... )
Most likely one of the three " landing points" will see intense activity in the next rounds ( let's hope after we finnish Construction for better defensive-movements ).
The north one will allow - even not so easily - a march through our capital but I'm not sure if Luddite have enough map-information by previous/shared scouting to figure out the route there ( which would be OK, he could be trumped that it is more close to "exposed area" and to attempt such a strike which will give as more time to react - but let's not take our wishes as reality ).
So ... let's take a look ...

More detailed overview of the three possible "landing-points" in attached picture / together with my comments/opinion for Macedon.
1. The north one is covered and under surveillance ( and somehow it is the most sensitive one - as long as it exposes somehow the capital ).
2. The south-east one is ... let's say covered to by cultural borders. At least we will know when a landing will occurs - even if the location is just 2-tiles away from the city of Cămătaru.
3. The north-east one is still in fog ( and even in dark area ) - please try to cover it too in the next 2-3 moves. This way we will have good coverage enough to not be surprised ( and 2-3 turns for emergency-whips too ).
On other hand - it's good that we still have some gold in our vaults to make also an emergency ugrade for 1-2 warriors and to not rely only on whips ( will you decrease science from 100% once Mathematics is completed ? I hope so ... ).
What will be the most likely composition of Luddite's stack ?
Let's try a wild guess ... probably he will expect until Construction is researched and it will be something like 8-10 vultures, 1-2 spearmens ( to cover against our chariots ) and 2-4 catapults. I'm not sure if he will include mounted units in his stacks - most likely not but who knows.
Quite hard to counter without too much losses but not impossible ... please propose a location for our "active-defense" units considering such an aggresion force.
I just wrote a separate message instead of merging with previous one to be easy to read ...
