Luddite's power has been considerably raising. Either him or someone else has clearly surpassed us in power this turn.
We also got Judaism spread to Asl. It starts to be pretty tempting to convert to Judaism. OR can probably wait until we've Monarchy.
We got Aristotle. I belive he is 2nd Great Person in the game 1st one was Prophet quite a while ago. Probably LP got it.

Academy founded. I didn't go to full 100% research since we don't need Maths in 2T.
Luddites power is still raising. Something more serious might be brewing up there.
Lord Parkin beat us to 10 cities. His economy will be stalled for a while I suspect.
I'll put ASL to build some home defense units after Barracks.

I'm worried for Parkin's long-term survival to a certain extent. We need him to actually be powerful in the late game for his plan to work. I mean, he probably won't be wiped out but a way at this point would probably slow down both players considerably and Rego would (if he is arsed to actually use his extra trade routes) be the big boy up north... which is next to us... and I'm not sure who would be able to counter balance him.
I wonder what Parkin would give us for units. We actually have the production and may be able to ferry units up there after C1 is built(FWIW?).
That being said, luddite might have just have decided that war is the way.

And is going to be gunning for Mackoti. So much for the Camp Plako Peace Summit? Do you have any idea what he's going to do?

I'm going to try to get Plako to forward diplo stuff to me.
So random border discussions with Rego over E-W access:
Quote:Hi plako,
So apparently we have a trade route! We're able to trade resources, though it must be unidirectional, as it looks like you have trade routes to me, but we do not have trade routes with you. Hopefully you can enjoy the slight boost to research! Please remember this if and when people try to get you to close borders with us due to GLH trade routes ;-)
We also noticed you have a warrior that appears to be heading north past Bob's Fork. I know that we had talked about OBs with no scouting clause, and there is no way out of our lands if you continue north. Are you interested in modifying that arrangement? Though it's unfortunate for us that we no longer have any units nearby your lands, so it's a bit one sided (like the trade routes!!) :-)
Finally, we noticed that you were spending EPs on us (which is fine). I know we've agreed with several civs to stop at 43 EPs each (enough to both see graphs), but couldn't remember if we also had that deal with you. If not, would you be up for that?
And finally (for real!) on a non pb4 note, would you be interested in building another map? Our new game (PBEM17 i guess) needs a mapmaker. There's a thread in the general discussion forum

Quote:Hi,
Trade routes are bit of a mystery indeed. Fortunately for you for you I had my foreign trade routes already filled up before this, so your one-sided contribution doesn't make me any richer ;-).
If you want, we can renegotiate the scouting deal. What do you suggest? No entering inside other players borders maybe? Of course I'm willing to discuss, if you need to get through.
Concerning espionage points, my plan is just to allocate enough to see your graphs, so 43EP is my goal. I just need to remeber to reallocate when it is reached.
I could make a map for PBEM17 for you. However if you get someone else that would be alright also. Balancing the continents without them being identical is pretty hard so I'll probably need few days to find insipiration to start using the clumsy map editor again :-).

Quote:Well, Sunrise has made it clear to me that he doesn't want people wandering around our backlines. I'm not sure why that is, or why he feels so strongly about it. But I have a hard time overruling him. On the other hand, I dont' want to really seem like a jerk just making all your units go backwards.
So how about this for a compromise - you send ;-) to the NE through our lands so you can get over to the other side of our lands and see the rest of the world? That would be NE on to the rice next turn and then NE-N and following the eastern road.
Does that sound okay?

Quote:Fair enough. I'll probably take a look at rice tile and then turn around since I've scouted areas east from you.

Lord Parkin is doing alright I think. He seems to be constantly lying about how well he is doing. e.g. saying things like Luddite has settled towards him (Luddite told me totally opposite version of this and at this I've more faith on what he says) or that he settles subpar cities to claim happiness resources like the city with 2 ivory, corn and gems .
I directly asked from Luddite about his power and he told it would just be a precaution in case of Mackoti trying something. Not sure, if that is true. Can't see Mackoti's power to make my own opinion.

Well, I suppose that makes sense. I don't think you cut units after Whosit did the same NAP game with you.

Luddite is probably up to something more than just home defense. We're #2 and still way behind him. LP or Mackoti should probably be worried.

I had a chat with Luddite apparently his target is his western neighbour. I've a hard time figuring out why Mackoti's power isn't raising higher than ours. Maybe he doesn't pay attention or ignores the signs. Neither of these options seem quite likely based on Mackoti's skill level. That leaves pretty much only option that he has some deal with Luddite that he expects to be in effect that Luddite either ignores or considers it null and void.
LP is the biggest winner of all this.
