Alright thx. I guess I'm not that much off the track. Been playing alot of Veigar lately, here's how I usually roll: Mana crystal (starting item) -> Catalyst of the protector -> Rod of Aegis, then just build Deathcap's. Add in boots (basic -> magic pen) at some point, depending who I'm up against at the beginning. Ended up with over 1k ability power yesterday, pretty much two shotted anyone.
Finally got enough newbie friends for 5vs5 games, but for some reason every damn time we keep getting a full group of lvl11-12's against us, while we're at levels 12, 8, 5, 5, 5. Arggh!

Going AA/Deathfire Grasp is pretty strong on veigar. Building tears from mana crystal is good in a lane you are winning, letting you get AA really early. You don't really want to go RoA usually, only because you want your catalyst with veigar until abour lvl 15+, in which if you get RoA then you will never get full benefit. Banshee's is just so much stronger, even with its recent/someewhat recent nerfs. And with DFG, you can 2 shot pretty much anyone in the game before you reach godmode with 400+ AP. I think that going DFG before Deathcap is usual veigar mode, to get more burst.

Veigar is also one of those special heroes who can really mess games up. If you play your cards right and stay back, you can blast away with impunity and not need the HP from RoA. Plus your stun makes teamfights hellish if they have too many melee heroes.
Granted, this depends on the following: 1) win your lane with Q last-hits and 2) be able to farm up big items quickly with your ability to clear entire waves based on having enough AP from (1)
Also, because you're doing a 5-man, LoL's matchmaking adds to your ELO ratings expecting you to be more competent. This means you end up against solo matchmaking players who are typically stronger than each of you. So, make sure to really cash in on the fact you guys know each other, setup a voicechat (skype, vent, mumtle, teamspeak) and get rolling.

When you play against 5s man in normal(in ranked 5s man has its own ELO rating) it does inflate your total ELO by a bit, but it also does that for the 5s man you're playing against, since in normal it usually pairs you up against other 5s man, so doesn't really match you against solo players you're better against.
It is true when you queue up with people, but not a full team, it enflates your rating. But honestly in normal, so many times people joke around, practice new/newish champs, normal ELO really doesn't indicate anything close to what your ranking/actual would be in a more competitive environment(ranked) where you would probably tryhard.

LoL Contest #1 - Kill Dragon and win RP !
Hey guys,
Since I have some leftover RP points from Riot point game cards, (and to bring some variety to the forums ) I thought it would be fun to start a little contest that brings some challenge and gives you the chance to win RP !
Starts: Now !
Ends: Monday, April 11th, 21:00 CEST / 15:00 EDT / 12:00 PDT
Conditions: Start a solo custom game on Summoner's Rift without any additional bots or players on either team.
Goals: Solo kill Dragon.
Winning condition: The fastest Dragon kill wins. All champions and summoner spells are allowed.
Banned items: Madred's Razor and all items it builds into (Wriggles / Bloodrazor) are banned!
How to participate:
As soon as you kill dragon, take a screenshot that shows your finishing time. Report your time either in this thread or via PM to me. Upload your screenshot somewhere on the net (i.e. http://www.imageshack.us ) and send me the link via PM. If you are not scared of anyone copying your champion choice/item build etc. you may post the link in this thread. If you use the unofficial replay client it may be a nice idea to save your replay so in case you win you can show people how you did it.
Bonus: You may deduct 1 second from your finishing time for every day before monday you report your result (i.e. if you report Saturday, you may deduct 2 seconds). This is so we get some results flowing in and not have everybody turn in 30 minutes before the contest ends.
I will update the ranking regularly.
What can you win: If you win (aside from all the honor ) you will receive a code from a Riot Point Game Card worth ~ 3500 RP !
Good luck to everyone !

Items that build into Madred's Razor are not banned right?
EDIT: And it isn't one champ do drag fatest time right? It can be whole team?

1. No, Long Sword and Cloth Armor are fine.
2. Actually yes, it is one champ dragon solo on Summoner's Rift without any additional teammembers/bots. I will clarify this in my post above. A whole team would be too easy (and it would be complicated with the RP for the winner)

Gave up after 25 minutes lol.
EDIT: Ok, gave it another shot, sending PM now
Doubt I'll win tho, don't have the best champs or even runes/masteries lol.

I will give it a go, although the fact that I am level 18 means my chances are pretty slim
Any idea of what a competitive time would be? Just want to know if I am really wasting my time!

Playing around on a smurf while couz on main, so I don't have optional champs(in my mind) and runes(not that I have them on main, but still...) but I would say 5ish to maybe 6ish min. I did a 8 min but I don't think I'm going the right way with thinking. Plus add masteries and actual runes..
