It's an Irish phrase more commonly spelled Craic.

It basically means "What's going on?" but with a positive rather than neutral connotation. Kind of like saying "What's the good news?" or "What's the fun?".

Thanks Selrahc, I've now learned something new today. smile

In theory it all sounds good....we'll have to see how it works out in practice.

Mardoc and I are on decent enough terms at the moment but:

1) He's likely going to be unhappy when he discovers the real reason I wanted his city moved (the gold tile)

2) If I'm reading the map correctly (not a given wink ) then he's on a peninsula and that means his only avenue of expansion once it fills up will be northwards. He could mount a water-walking/naval force to hit WarriorKnight but I'm a lot closer.

I suspect we will be at war at some point and will be planning my defenses accordingly.

It's spelled craic.

Edit: Didn't read the rest of the thread, sorry.

Alternatively you can use "how's she cutting?"

Mr. Yellow plinked a couple of units I'd exposed on a flat tile in exchange for one of his. In retaliation I killed the warrior on the flat. ~ even exchange but he will have a c1 + 2 promo bronze warrior.

In other news, after looking at my "units away costs" I went ahead and popped the Pyre a turn early. I figured that I had enough units in the area to deal with any spawns and this should let me take Golden Hut a turn earlier.

The results:

WAIT FOR IT
[Image: t95pyre.jpg]
That works for me. smile

After hitting end of turn:

Sciz's giant is at 5.8/7 health. A C2 warrior is showing ~36% odds, my swordsman should have ~55% odds if I promote him to C1.

IF I decide to engage the giant. Thanks to the other giant moving away from my worker squad, I can found Golden Wigwam as scheduled without engaging Sciz's giant. If I don't engage the giant it will wander off into the wilds as C4 (I'm fairly certain giants can't pillage, if I'm wrong please correct me. ). If I do engage it I'll loose a level 3 warrior and possibly a sword if the RNG decides to have a hissy cow. Overall, I would prefer not to engage.

We'll see. smile

The spread of Runes of Kill 'em orf into Golden Tipi is a mixed blessing. It means I definitely won't be getting a free spread of OO there. OTOH Golden Tipi's happy cap just went from 5 to 7 and I'm getting an extra gpt. Is ok by me.

Golden Lean to is currently showing one unhappy but that will be fixed this turn as the Incense plantation completes.

t 95 Demographics:

The drop in my production number was caused by Golden Hovel switching from mines to farms in order to grow.

Current military forces:

The forces around the Pyre include 3 6/2 exp warriors, 2 9/2 exp warriors and one 9/10 swordsman (2.8/5 health). A C2 warrior is currently showing 73% odds vs the top barb archer. I figure I'll loose 1-2 warriors but the city should be mine next turn.

(and it was WarriorKnight who founded Order. He also finally founded his 5th city, no one other than possibly Irgy is at six yet. I'll hit #7 t 96 and #8 t 97. With worker support.)

In other news, I see Mardoc is about to hit 200 posts in his lurker thread.

Before I hit 400. rant

I should have made each diplo message a separate post. rant

Hill Giants are classed as Beast units and not Recon (who cannot pillage). I am unsure if they can pillage or not to be honest but my guess would be the same as yours in that they can't.

I would favour not engaging the Hill Giants too. Hunters are your best bet for clearing them out, or just leave them be outside your borders. Eventually they will get trapped by culture and so become easy-pickings!

As for the Pyre... lol lol lol lol all the way home! I forget which tech it is (Mil Strat?) that allows city raider promo's, but a sword with a few of these and combat + melee is going to tear through Mr Yellow's cities... Or make a super priest - actually - that is better. Call him something ironic... like "Malcolm the Mild Mannered!" (or some Trek name! wink)
