Fastest to level 6 is kind of boring because the champ clearly has to be Zilean and Zilean can't jungle, so it's really an issue of how fast can you kill creeps in lane.

Also: 3:56 dragon!

I can not seem to beat about 4:05ish, so either I'm using wrong masteries(possible), wrong strat, or just really bad runes. >.<

I like this. Another option is runeless and free champs, but mysteries allowed, since MOST challenge contestants are 30s.

Sure, but I don't think that 4:30 time to level 4 is gonna be competitive. lol

I am not a fan of this super restrictive approach, since it's part of LoL's gameplay to unlock champions and outfit them with the perfect runes for your style of play.
For example it could be deemed unfair as well if your favourite champ is free this week while another player's isn't. Additionally, in some challenges the rune choice could be an interesting part of the challenge, as long as it doesn't require some obscure ones. A "fastest to level 6" challenge i.e. almost certainly requires XP gain quints, so in that case it would be a possibility to ban these specific quints beforehand.

Why do I get the feeling we're doing the same thing? How about a gentleman's agreement not to buy extremely specific purpose runes for this?

Sounds good to me. I had decent runes for this challenge already, but I'll agree to not grind and spend the 8000 or so IP needed to drop another second.

One way to do challenges with free weeks is to do multiple-champion challenges. Say "fastest to kill dragon" with 3 different free champions, and scores are based on the sum of the times.

Hmm, if your runes are pretty decent that probably means better than mine, I have a bunch of IP but not sure how to even the playing field without spoiling the game tongue

We could also alternate, like Gentle vs Extreme Civ Adventures. We could do the next challenge with restrictions that make sense and then do another with none.
