heh heh heh... sounds like they're reconsidering their position.
Quote:Hi,
I see that Ioan sent a mail to you, indeed your power is biger but mine is not yet updated, and personaly i think you will nothing just some gold from plundering 1 maybe 2 of my cities because there is no way yo can keep those. And the other ones i will be sure that will not pass size 1 so will auto raze if you'll manage to get there.
So i will be sure your winigs will be minimal. But you made your point. So there is my offer:
-i will gift you my gems ivory city
-you will not setle the silver city on my land
- you can have all the land behind the gem ciy.
NAP until turn 140.
You think good , you can win something or win nothing.I know you can reinforce quick but not as quick i can do that.
regards,
Mackoti
(incidentally, thanks for telling me where your other city is! I didn't know he already settled by the gems and ivory)
My response:
Quote:You'll have to give me the corn/pigs city too (and the land below it). But I could agree to the rest of your offer.
Mackoti is left holding the turn right now, with 7 hours to go.

Alright he finally ended turn! Time for some Bloodshed!
Here's what I saw after my move into his territory
Since I'm assuming he doesn't have anything left in the south, I moved up all my units there (all 3 of them lol)
And the result after his move
So he lost his chariot attacking mine, but then killed 2 of my vultures. That's ok. Now both cities are very weakly defended, and I can clean up the weakened chariots whenever I want. He did build a lot of chariots though... really wish I'd sent a spear with my main stack.
He just whipped Lupu. That means next turn he'll be defending with 2 axemen, 1 chariot, and (I'm guessing) 1 spearman vs my 4 vultures, 1 healthy chariot, and 1 somewhat damaged chariot. His have no promotions, and only a small fortify bonus- I've got a combat 1 and a city raider 1 vulture, and my wounded chariot can promote. The odds seem to favor me heavily in this fight.

Just did a sim, and my forces won 17/20 times against what I'm guessing he'll have in Lupu next turn. I'll take those odds.

Apparently he just sent me another proposal, which I didn't even notice before I declared war. I wouldn't accept this one anyway. I'm guessing he means the city far in the south, which he offered me yesterday WITHOUT asking for the settler. This is a terrible offer.
hi,
I dontk know about wich corn pig site are you speaking because ther are 2 of those, if you speak the one down with not riverside pig, and wet corn but not riverside i have a propozition , if you speak abot the one wich is riverside, i dont have nothing to say to you.
The propozition is this you give me the setler wich is alredy an my land and i give you that city .
regards,
Mackoti

Some more good news
Quote:We agreed on a NAP until the turn of the calendar, which is turn 115 if I'm not mistaken. By that time I can definitely be in a position to nibble at Mackoti's western border, but I kind if doubt it will come in time to make a difference.

If this war doesn't end quickly, I think it'll easily last until T115. In that case, SleepingMoogle's assistance could be huge.

Interesting. Mackoti built an axe instead of a spear, in lupu. Unfortunately his chariot will defend first from my chariot but... I've got 2.

So you are expecting an extended conflict? How would you expect one to unfold?
Productionwise, what sorts of units do you have in the pipeline? Are you building only units presently or also economic? (I think you mentioned Colossus)

I think the results of today's fighting speak for themselves
I went in first with my healthy chariot. It lost, but damaged the Dutch chariot enough that his axes defended against my (slightly damaged, combat 1) chariot. It won, and then my vultures made short work of the remaining defenders. Followed by a mopup of his remaining chariots outside the cities.
Here's what it looks like now. "Wave of Mutilation" indeed. I really hope that vulture survives this turn.
Basically, he's got nothing left in the battlefield. My vulture was slightly damaged cleaning up the last chariot (I wanted to give him the XP), but he's still got a river protecting him from Mackoti's axe there. I assume he'll whip another axe this turn in Cavatura, but it doesn't matter. In two turns I'll be hitting Cavatura with 6 vultures, plus a chariot and spear. That city is mine.
Moving my southern units reveals that his last city is closer than I thought! And it's far away from any trees, too. I might be able to reach that one in 4 more turns. Assuming I can take Cavatura, I'll have a chariot there too.
My military is mostly vultures, but I've got some spears coming in now too. I've basically accomplished my main offensive goals this turn, so now the only thing left to do is to defend my newly conquered territory. I'm going to plant a city on the hill, east of where Lupu was, and fill it up with spears in case he sends HAs at me.
Just to rub it in, I founded Silver City this turn, which apparently is the name of an Irish beer. I'll get some defenders there asap.
Until now I was just making units everywhere. But after this turn, I'm confident enough to switch back to some economic builds. I'm going to partially build the colossus in Murphy's for some fail gold, and then finish it in Beamish. Then I'll have enough gold to research literature, and claw my way back in tech. I'm embarassed to even look at my demographics right now, they're so bad. Lots of production, and nothing else.

But I'm not planning on going for the kill... not for a while anyway. Maybe after catapults. I think I can play defense easily, while continuing to expand.
In other news, plako offered to trade me for a great prophet. He said he might be able to give me some settlers for it (him being imp, it's a good deal for him). I'm trying to decide if i should take him up on that offer, and if so, how many settlers i should ask for. I do want the shrine but... if I could get 3 settlers, that's awfully tempting.

I think I was wrong about Mackoti's cities. Looking again at his military screen, he has 4 core cities. With the destruction of Lupu, he now has 7 cities total. So he must have 2 cities buried in the south.
No wonder his military was a joke! He was spamming settlers (and also building a library in the copper city, lol). If he'd built just 2 more chariots instead of a settler, this attack wouldn't have worked. If he thought I wouldn't attack him for a while, he severely miscalculated. In the words of LBJ, "If you have had your foot on the neck of a man for three hundred years, and then take it off, do you expect him to get up and thank you?"
Oh well. Too bad for him :neenernee. Now, all of his new cities shall be mine.
