[Spoilers] The Golem Factory: Beeri Bawl of the Luchuirp

Well remember to ask him to either cancel open borders with Mist, or agree to closing off military access with him.

t101 played, i'm aware i should be doing some turn 100 thing but there's really no point right now, there's nothing to say really.

Cotton Valley grew to size 4 and is now working a grassland farm and the three cottons again, so it's getting some decent commerce. +2 gpt at 20% science right now, and next turn I revolt to aristocracy.

Ithralia is size 8 I think, working farms and mines, just finished its siege workshop. Mutanbo is size 6, working farms and mines, 2t for its siege workshop to finish. Tia'ran is size 3, growing next turn, just finished its sculptor's studio and is working on a courthouse now.

When I switch to aristocracy I should be able to reach festivals pretty quickly, throwing up markets everywhere except CV, which needs to finish its sculptor's studio first. Depending on my tech rate i'll either go directly for engineering then, or go via BW and warfare to ease my unit upkeep with military state.

i bet everyone there is wondering wtf ive been doing this game

Actually, without going into specifics, i've been very impressed with how you've been holding out. When you have a diplomatic wall as a conversational enemy there is only so much you can do.

alright

Like Square Leg said, this is FFH, so there is allways a lot you can do. Golems have a hundred and one uses. Especially when they can chuck fireballs and survive the late game apocalypse events.

Uberfish denies NAP, but agrees to not let Mist move units through his borders, so now i've at least had him say that, so if he goes back on his promise I can at least call him out on it.

Do you have the exact wording of the chat\email, and if so, can you post it here?

It's just that if, several months' down the line, you do have a need to call him on it, it would be nice to have an exact quote of the agreement.

Well I reread his mail and it's not really clear cut:

Uberfish Wrote:None of my OB agreements include rights of passage at this point - I will accept open borders with you for trade route purposes, but you aren't allowed to move troops through my lands to attack Mist either.

Ugh. "at this point" is the important thing here. At any time he can just adjust that. I'm gonna mail him again for clarification I think.

Yeah.
If you trust him, let these things slide.
If you think he is actively plotting your destruction, be on the look out for the little things.

I mean the way he said that...

You can imagine it being footnoted:
"I don't currently have a rite of passage agreement" but I did ten turns ago when I let that Wolf run through my lands. And I will in ten turns, when I let the Doviello strike team through.

Exactly. I'm chatting with Mist now though! And it's going pretty well I think. Let's see what will happen

Well that chat was a success!

Here's the agreement we got:

Official Luchuirp-Doviello Agreement Wrote:From this turn and on, The Doviello and The Luchuirp enter a state of "Cold War", where we shall not take each other's cities, and we shall not attack each other's units before negotiating to do so. We are allowed to negotiate fixed battles for exp. During the time of the Cold War, we will have a NAP which will run until T130. At T130 we will make peace with each other, and we will negotiate a NAP that must run until at least T160. We may not mention that this is a fake war to other civs.

Included in the agreement is also:
-The Doviello will return Pieces of Barnaxus to the Luchuirp as soon as possible. There is no way for the Luchuirp to oversee this, so they will have to trust The Doviello to return it as fast as they can.
-The Doviello will get a 10T loan of Enchantment Mana from The Luchuirp, at any time.
-The Doviello settle a city 2N of Cotton Valley's northern Cotton. May only build monument for culture.
-The Luchuirp may get a 10T loan of copper from The Doviello at any time if needed.
-The Luchuirp settle a city 3S1E of Doviello sheep.

-Signed by Sciz, CEO of Lucky Golems Corp.
-Accepted and confirmed. Mahala of the Enlightened Wild Men.

This is great! jive

At first I tried going for a joint-uberfish attack later as well, but he's apparently a big friend of Uberfish, they have a NAP until T150! So it may be that Uberfish will attack me at some point before then. The NAPs the two of us signed now might be a bit long, since it's at least until T160, but we really needed this to get our eco going again. Now I won't have to tech military state because I can just delete warriors I don't need, or even better offer them to Mist for battle exp, and he'll do the same for me to train Barnaxus when I get him back.

On Barnaxus, Mist confirmed that Uberfish was helping. Mist transferred the pieces to an Uberfish giant spider, so Uberfish is currently in possession of the pieces, but Mist said that Uberfish promised to give the pieces back to Mist within 10-15 turns, and from there Mist will hand them over to me. It'll take a while, but it's worth it, and since I have an agreement with Mist to train on each other's units, Barnaxus will be leveled up quite easily. smile

So plan for now is to gather up all my strong warriors and WGs, and head south to the barb city and take it, so Ilios doesn't get there first. Then take it easy on military for a long time, and tech straight up to engineering.

Speaking of Ilios, he quite easily dispatched of Amelia, Darrel and Serdoa. Serdoa was apparently the only one really committed to the war anyways, Darrel only sent 8 units or something, and Amelia is late to the action. Ilios has cemented his position even more now.

Looks like a pretty nice treaty actually. Well done. thumbsup

Nah... Seems fine.

I'm thinking Uberfish is our big target for aggression down the line.

Ah. that sounds like it solves the mystery of the wolf. Based on your diagram, I wasn't sure where the hell the wolf could even have gotten to. If it simply vanished into the maw of a spider.... Well. That makes sense.

If Uberfish has a giant spider, we should have a scout somewhere in the empire ready to spot it, in case he tries any HN choking. Losing some Mud Golems would not be fun.

At least in the medium term we should be well out of it. There are an array of states hostile to Ilios. We'll just have to hope they can choke him a bit. We can't afford to get involved in that war. In fact I'd say it gives us some good opportunities to buddy up a little, via trade.

Sounds like a plan. Let's get back on track, and back to the golem factory.
