No, we won't be taking anyone on for a while. But we will eventually, sure. smile

And he has the lighthouse, right? Sounds like a very good target if anything (after the NAP of course), although I expect you have better things to do anyway.

Yes, though we'd be unlikely to be able to take it from him much before it obsoleted.

It's crossed my mind. We'll have to wait and see what shape we (and everyone else) are in a few dozen turns down the line, but it's a possibility. Mind you, almost any of our neighbours could be a possibility later on... we'll see. smile

I wasn't completely sure of this, as I haven't explored that part of the map yet, so I believe as a lurker you probably shouldn't be spreading information like this around. wink

For the record, any comments I made about war are just idle musings for the time being, so please don't go "hinting" to anyone when I'm not even sure what I'm doing at this point in the game. (In fact, I'm pretty sure passing information gained from other threads to anyone in any form should be strictly disallowed anyway. In any event, I'll have far less desire to share my thoughts if I'm concerned they may get passed on to rival civs - inadvertently or not.)

Anyway, not a personal dig, just a reminder for all lurkers to be careful what they say. smile

Oh shit. Didn't think that through at all.

Not that big a deal as it doesn't change anything and I'll have revealed that area in time anyway. Just be careful in future. smile

Deer will be improved at Lynx next turn, at which point we'll start growing.

Horses improved at Acinonyx, and will be connected up to the empire next turn.

Library is almost finished at Pantherinae; we'll probably build a Settler soon after that.

The capital is up to size 12, which is neat. No-one else is beyond size 10 right now, as far as I'm aware. We're building units there at the moment, and will build a Market once we reach Currency. We'll get a Great Person in 3 turns.

Tigris will probably build some units or Settlers soon after finishing its Lighthouse.

Onca will finish its Granary then build a Lighthouse.

Magadan will finish the Moai Statues in two turns, then will move on to a Lighthouse/Granary in some order, possibly whipping them to completion. (Need to do some testing to figure out the most efficient plan there).

Evermore will finish its Lighthouse, then we'll probably build a Worker or Settler, or maybe some units.

Felidae will switch to a Settler once it reaches size 9.

Pardus will chop out a Granary next turn, then move on to either building units or Workers/Settlers (post size 3).

We're chopping out a Granary at Leo, then possibly building a Library.

Note the demographics this turn - next turn our GNP should be looking much better (we're pretty much equal 2nd right now by the way, only 3rd by a point or two).

Plako's GNP is rather insane though... which is actually good in some ways, since it's provoking some interesting discussions with other players - including Locke, who seems to be quite open to the idea of taking Plako down a notch or two in the future. smile We'll have to try to avoid showing off our own GNP too much if we can help it in the near future (i.e. avoiding 100% research after Currency).

Well, I said our GNP would be better next turn, and here we are. Running a lower slider than last turn, and still 40 points of improvement. smile

Plako's in revolt this turn so his GNP isn't showing up, but that's actually interesting because it shows where our next nearest rival is (presumably Locke). There's obviously a steep dropoff behind him, evidenced by the rather low rival average.

Next up... 3 techs in 3 turns. jive

Assuming we get a Great Prophet next turn, there's a choice to be made. We can either bulb Theology and research COL-CS, or we can research Theology and COL then bulb CS. The advantage of bulbing CS is that we get ~300 beakers more out of the Great Prophet (~1160 compared to ~860). However, we do increase the risk of losing Christianity, a future Shrine city, and the AP to someone else. I don't think the risk is that high, since I'm pretty sure more people can't or don't want to research Theology this early anyway (or don't have the economy to do it faster than us anyway). But the risk is still there.

Anyway, there's a chance we won't get a Great Prophet next turn, in which case this will be irrelevant. But assuming we do, what do the lurkers think? Are ~300 bonus beakers worth the risk of potentially giving up a holy city, future shrine and the AP? In this situation it's not necessarily a clear decision, and depends mostly on whether we think other nations want to and/or are able to research Theology before us.
