Perhaps I was a little overconfident before... this will be fun. I'm still not too worried, though.

And this is really annoying. My unpromoted vulture lost to his archer at 25% odds, my combat 1 vulture lost at 60% odds, and my other vulture across the river lost to his spear at 34.3% odds. I used debaser to clean up the first archer, thinking he'd get 2 XP because it was 99% odds... BUT he only got 1 XP. I guess that's from the first strike of the archer. Then my spearmen died to his spear at 59% odds! I cleaned up his other archer with my other spear, leaving just his heavily wounded spear alive to be cleaned up by Debaser next turn. Hopefully he won't delete it. Not a good round of combat for me. Oh, and to top it off, he got a gg out of it. At least it helped my finances lol.

He's threatening me with a force of 4 catapults, 2 combat 1 axemen, 4 unpromoted axemen, and 1 chariot. His stack is glowing, so at least 1 other unit in there has a promotion, hopefully just the catapults. No spearmen, which is interesting. I've got a total of 6 axemen (1 combat 1/shock, 1 combat 1/medic, 1 CR2, 1 with no experience, 2 with 3XP but no promotion yet) plus 4 spearmen and 4 chariots. Unfortunately I don't have time to whip or chop anything anywhere. But this should be enough to at least save Nu Lupu, even if I can't outright destroy his army.
I suppose there's more of a threat to the silver city. I've only got 1 vulture and 2 spearmen there, and I can whip 1 more vulture. But I didn't have time to build the fort yet. However, I do have 3 workers in the area, so I have a lot of options.
However, most of my force is hidden where he can't see it. Hopefully he'll take the bait and more toward Lupu.
edit- looking at it again, I think he'll almost certainly attack lupu, unless he moves in his chariot to scout my forces on the hill. I moved back the chariots, so those will be completely hidden.

if he decides to move up and attack Silver city, there's a possibility to move my army forward and attack his capital. Right now I really wish I had construction just so I could use bridges, like he can.
How come you need knowledge of construction to walk over a bridge that someone else made, anyway? was that concept too hard for ancient people to understand???

That simple, anything that can't be explained is considered the work of the devil and thus, no one wants anything to do with it.

Looking at this again- there's almost zero chance that he'll be able to take a city from me, unless maybe he has a lot of chariots hidden behind that I can't see yet. Even if he goes for Silver City, I can save it. But just in case, I've ordered another round of vultures in my core cities. The bigger threat is that he's just about to research HBR.

Is he currently at 6 cities?
Other than the city debaser is attacking, is his capital the closest city he has to you?

Yeah that's correct-the city he just founded was his sixth. And of his original 4, NONE of them are on a coast that borders me, so I don't even have to worry about that.

meh, no battle. Not this turn anyway.
On the other hand, there might be more fighting in the south. I razed his (now empty) city, and founded my own. Revealing... a galley!
If he has any units in that galley, I might be in trouble. His rising power graph is also worrying.
So i'm doing some heavy military production right now. Harp just whipped a ziggurat, and can make a vulture or chariot next.
Meanwhile, Locke sent out an interesting message
Quote:Hey there. This email going to all teams in game except plako. This is gonna sound kinda weird but hear me out. We are all losing to plako. Some doing better than others but all losing. You all see his GNP graph spikes. He has 14 cities and most food and most production and most GNP. If we do nothing he just outtech us and eventually kill us. WarriorKnight first and then the rest of us. That is bad result.
So what do we do? Most teams are way far away cant go to war. Also I think war coalition has been tried in other games and it doesnt work well. Because someone doesnt send units and then they get ahead while everyone else fighting. But there is something else we can do. plako has Currency tech. He is running economy off foreign trade routes in 14 cities. That is 28 trade routes to other civs. If we all CLOSE BORDERS with plako, he lose all them at once and economy crashes. It is a lot of income will hurt him a lot. So I want ask everyone to join together and close borders together with plako. Has to be everyone though. This will not work if only some of us do it. It is in eveyones interest to close borders with him. Even if you are friends with plako. We need to present united front. This is peaceful boycott as a group.
Some of us have units in plako borders. We do right now. So if we do this it should be together on turn 110. Give time for units to move through plako borders.
So tell me what you think. I think it is best way for us to slow down runaway. It is easy and you dont have to do anything. Just click to cancel OB. If we all do it together plako cant get mad at any one team. You will still have plenty of foreign trade routes OB from other civs. We need EVERYONE in on this. Lets do this. :D
Locke
PS Please dont say anything to plako. Even if you are friends theres no reason to help him win easier.
I have to say, plako's graphs are pretty scary. He's number 1 in food and mfg, number 2 in power after me, and maybe #1 in research power (hard to tell with culture). I'm not sure yet, but I'm inclined to support this idea.

I just asked Mackoti for peace, with this message. I doubt he'll accept, but we'll see.
Quote:Are you willing to talk peace now? I know you have a large army with catapults, so I have no interest in invading your capital. However, I also know that I have enough units to defend any attack you make, and I've got more units coming soon. So I suggest a peace treaty, with an NAP until turn 150.
As a side note, I'm pretty convinced right now that LP has been spying for Mackoti his entire time with his warrior, since he moved it in a way that was useless for me, but perfect for mackoti.
