Well we put in a good clip to bust through that last scenario. I decided to take Sunday off, didn't do any reports either. I'll probably play the turnset tonight if I have time. In any case though, I"m not worried if we have to slow down during this week.

Notice in the last picture I've sent our wraith south to scout and steal the green villages. The more you take away from him the less reinforcements we'll face. Just be aware of any enemies coming from he south and their radius of movement.

Ya 45 enemy troops from the start

They have a long dialog but basicly all we need to do it survive or save the elf lady.

Suggestions please

As previously noted, I have family visiting and will not have time to play until at least Monday. So I will need to be skipped.

But I will quickly throw a few thoughts out:

- How much money do we have?
- How much money do the AIs have?
- How many turns would we need to hold out?
- Not sure if we could get to the edge of the water and try to hold the big castle's forces at the water line for the defensive bonus? We would need to guard the ford to the west in any case. Or are the big castle's forces static, just to guard the prisoner?
- The small castle to the east can not be blocked at the water. frown Maybe hold a line slanting from NE on those mountains to SW on the hills by the water, across those two villages?

Good luck!

I guess I'm up then? I'm getting the save now.

I'll see if they move. My guess is they don't unless you get too close. I'm going to try to take out the guy on the right since he's probably where the attack will come from. I'll see for sure when I play though.

Okay played. I was being conservative the first two turns. And at the end of the second I apparently got close enough that one of the guards from the keep jumped out to attack. I then decided, okay, lets draw some more out in small groups and slaughter them!

SO here's how I ended the 3rd turn:

And I got 4 guys to come out, with minimal damage to our units:

Also notice the units from the garrison are running up the right side. They're going for the villages.

I think the strategy here is to advance slowly, drawing small groups from the keep will defending the attcks from the right from trees and the small patch of mountains.

You'll notice we have just enough gold to recall 5 more units. After that no way we get any more gold to recruit any units. I didn't hire a bunch of the lvl 3 dwarves because they suck in forests and on dry land, but it might be worth 1 or 2 more to hold the small mountain peak and they could be useful inside the stone towers.

Basically, rope a dope the guards and defend the east. Advance slow and then once inside rescue the princess. We have 21 turns left, I think its possible. Just be careful not to draw too many at once and make sure next turn to get our wraith knight out of danger, then watch out for the east. Minimize damage as you advance by using healthy fugitives on the flat ground. We should be able to sieze the outer towards soon. Also after this last round of recalls (5 units) We can start throwing our main guy behind the front lines for his leadership bonus.

Will be interested to see how you guys do and if there are any surprises in store for us.

I realized about 1 turns in that there was a 3 space gap that the castle gaurds could cross at so I just charged destroying the blue army and I think 1/3 of the elf gaurds.

Edit: sorry for a crappy turn report but nothing intersting or important happened.

OK, family has left after a very pleasant (but extremely busy) long weekend, and I am caught up enough to have time for a turnset. I should be able to play maybe 6 hours from now, so if no one posts before then I will grab the save and see what I can do about killing some orcs and getting closer to a rescue.

Looks like we are well along to eliminating the leader at the east castle. Then we can wear down and destroy the guards and move in to the center for the rescue. Nice work, Lewwyn and Fire&Ice. smile
