The scene: Endless white clouds with bright light permeating everything, and massive, white, wide-open gates with a suspiciously pearl-like sheen.
RefSteel: What am I doing here?
Glowing Irridescent Transcendence: I hate to break this to you, but you're dead.
Ref: No, I was expecting that. It's just ... white clouds and angels? Really?
GIT: You thought maybe you'd be going the other way?
Ref: Well, I was working for X-Com, you know. I know for a fact that I killed at least one civillian with a Sonic Pulser. Plus I was firing on my own teammates at the end. Molecular Control and that.
GIT: Ah, but you were shot down at the last by friendly fire.
Ref: On purpose. To keep me from blowing the others to ... uh ... here.
GIT: Regardless. People who get killed by X-Com always wind up here. It's sort of compensation for what they have to go through before they die.
Ref: Ah. So I got in on a technicality. Well, this should be fun for about two minutes.
GIT: Not so clear on the concept of "eternal happiness" are we? This peace will last forever, my child.
Ref: Shows what you know.
(reaches for angel wings and harp)
(finds self holding plastic aqua armor and a sonic rifle instead)
(glances upward)
(smirks)
Told you so.
Cloning Vat Operator: Interesting choice of first words. Now climb on out of there. We haven't got all day.
