[SPOILER] Asoka of the Vikings (Nakor & Gaspar)

Everything in good shape, but yeah, I think we do want to switch to Slavery/OR this turn, even though there's no Religion in any of the places we really want to build stuff, nor do I want to whip anything this turn, but we'll want the whip soon, and we'll want to be able to switch back to Caste again when we're plopping down that next round of cities, plus we'll have HR in 5-ish turns, and we'll want it then. :P So I switched, costs us an extra 4 gpt.

Everything else interesting I talked about last turn, so I hit enter.

Well, what the heck, we have a turn to play...

... Metal Casting comes in, I set research to Monarchy, which the game tells me is due in 3T. Our tech pace is definitely too cozy, we need more cities. lol

Horseland finishes a Missionary, why not try another. Not like it will contribute anything else useful, except for being next to horses. wink

I moved stuff around that seemed obvious, and ignored other stuff for you. Galley brought back into port at carrying the GScientist. He can begin his trek to Greenland next turn. The news of the turn is here...

Locke's settled the pigs, which is probably the easiest to get up and running site on the peninsula. Red Circle denotes a a city we could settle for Gems/Bananas/Dyes, if we wanted to continue to compete for the island with him. I don't know how we can defend it long term, but I also don't like the idea of just ceding territory to him when he's already in better shape than us on that front. Regardless, the Fish site is definitely also ceded to him. We could also settle the Rice city, which will be crappy, but both of those sites pretty much require us to get IW and Calendar sooner than later. Few turns too late - the story of this game for us. Same thing basically that happened with LP and his city on the other peninsula. Oh well, definitely learned some lessons for my/our/the next game.

Shuffled Crossing to work a couple of crappy 2F tiles because they'll let us whip the Settler sooner.

In foreign news, the SM/Adlain war is over as soon as it began, so I'd guess there's a simple explanation. To be honest, I really don't care at this point, though. bang

Didn't end turn, so you can move the scouting units and mop up the residue of my broken hope and lost dreams.

Going to look in the game now. I still think we should whip that settler and settle the 5 resources spot. By settling it that way, we prevent Locke from getting to much cities there.

All we need then is Naval superiority....

Okay, why not 3-pop whip the settler in Dorestadt, load in on the Galley with the Axe and set sail for that crazy site? The settler from Crossing with an Axe can settle the rice then. There is an Axe in Fishfood that can be loaded on the Galley as well.

Getting IW - Calender before Feud - CS is a good option, we do get more happy then...

Not going to end turn untill you have your say about whipping!

I hate to whip too hard in Dorestadt, as its not exactly food rich, especially with working the gold mine. Crossing's a better spot to do so, it has two great food resources. We also need to figure a way to get some workers over there pronto. Unless you think a turn's really going to matter, why don't we whip Crossing next turn, and change the tech path to IW -> Calendar -> Monarchy -> Feudalism -> Civil Service. If you think a turn will make a big difference, we can whip Dorestadt this turn instead, but either way, lets switch research to IW.

Wish there were some freaking islands on this map. :P I suspect a few of these connections were islands initially and then Krill filled in peaks to nerf intercontinental trade routes though. Doesn't matter anyway, the map is what the map is.

Whatever we do, if we're going for the city over there, we should put a 2nd one down shortly thereafter, so the sites can support each other. Also, we should try and move the galley in such a fashion as Locke doesn't see it, so he doesn't try and send us a message before we settle it.

It's just that it's so good that there's a Galley with Axe in Dorestadt now... It saves a lot of movement if we whip now. We can whip the Settler in Crossing in 2T and pair it up with 2 workers and 1 axe from the area around Fishfood and send that to the island.

Still think we can tech Monarchy before IW either way. I think a turn does matter since Locke just whipped 4 times last turn.

Let's do it.

Wow! Did I just convince you of a crazy action? Okay, I'll whip and end turn.
We migh want to whip the Galley in Fishfood next turn as well.

Quick new turn!

Greenland finished a MP, Forge next. Dorestadt got the whipped Settler done and starts on a Forge as well.

Send your missionary towards Riverland. Got to give it a try there. It's good land!
The next one can go to Vinland.

I think we can whip Crossing for 2pop next turn. The Galley finishing in Fishfood in 2T can ferry over an Axe and 2 workers to the new land. The Galley heading for the promised peninsula can set off Settler/Axe pair 1 and then return to crossing or pair 2.

IW will be a 2-3 turn tech at our current pace, so we're doing pretty decent.
Are we going to hire 2 scientists in Crossing?

Feel free to end turn once you've taken a look!
