well I got 3 units so . . .
lets see
both liches
9-3 70%
10-5 70%
and elf sorceress
9-4 70%
the hp total for the troll is 70
liches do 18, 40 or 30, and elf does 27
18+30+27=75
so I should kill the leader even if I get a little unlucky

OK, turns played. The blue king is dead, but I am still thinking we are screwed.
Turn 4
Kill 5 trolls, promoting an outlaw to fugitive and a dwarf steelclad to dwarf lord.
IBT no losses, but there are a LOT of trolls moving towards us.
Turn 5
We crush most of blue's forces, and get some blows in on the king. Bruindane even manages a kill, although this guy is just terrible -- every time I use him, he takes maximum possible damage. Every time.
IBT we lose an outlaw covering the Shyde's retreat. One of the white mages also dies when two trolls both score on all hits. He resurrects of course.
Turn 6
The blue king is killed, and we wipe out all but one blue unit. I start forming a rough defensive line, SW - NE, but I am not sure we have enough units to make it work. We may need to fall back all the way to the blue fort and the woods, and anchor our lines on the map edges to shorten our front.
A brave outlaw is trapped in a village, delaying the advancing enemy horde. He is doomed, sadly.
IBT...wow.
If he wasn't doomed next turn I would rename him SuperOutlaw. He not only survived a 6-on-1 swarm, he got both hits against every one of his attackers. Wish all our units fought half as well.
We have several badly injured units -- make sure to keep them safe and getting healing each turn. We barely have enough units to form a line as it is, we can't afford to lose more. As I said, consider pulling back to the fort and forest, with one line across the corner of the map -- this would shorten our front enough to allow wounded units to move back and heal in safety. There is so much incoming I doubt even this will work, but who knows?
At least the enemy kings have zero gold and negative income, so what we already see is all we have to deal with. Unfortunately we aren't going to be getting any more troops either with negative income.

lol my turn. I was at a hotsprings yesterday and today (back now) I've got the save and I'll play it in a bit, but my write up will be a little lax, I have to do 2 turn writeups for 3 civ games.

Okay, my goal for these turns was to keep all the trolls on the flat grass. And if they aren't on the grass then have dwarfs face them on the mountains. And by god, it worked. Really successfully I might add. I did not lose a single unit. Even the outlaw in the center. I upgraded one thug to outlaw, one outlaw to fugitive, one dwarf to lvl 2, the elvish sorceress leveled too! we are losing even more gold now because of more higher level units lol. We're also not too injured. There were a couple close calls, the fugitive IBT 9 almost died, the one lich almost died, two outlaws almost died.
Now remember I fought during the daylight while they were weaker, thus less dmg and no losses. I fear it will get more difficult ahead. However, I killed... a ton of trolls. Seriously...
I saved the outlaw in the center by rushing forward and killing two wounded ones, then he was able to move one step through ZOC forward and only 3 trolls could hit him. He injured all the trolls that attacked him. Then I killed the two trolls to one side and like 3 in the south with dwarfs and he was free to run behind the line.
After end of 7:
Then I attacked forward again, After end of turn 8:
And again, after turn 9:
So there you go. There's a lvl 2 dwarf in the north there that if he kills the north most troll will level up. So injure that troll and level him. Other than that... Keep the dwarfs in the south where they are and cycle the one behind the three when they get injured, though they barely get hit and they have 2 hp regen that makes a bit of a difference. Beasts on mountains I tell you. They freaking slayed the trolls, about 7-10 trolls killed just by those dwarfs. How? the trolls attack, miss, and get hot for half their health. Then the dwarfs hit the next turn killing them. Almost a kill per turn for these guys.
Good luck in the night though. Still trolls on flatland have 30% def. Go slaughter.

Very nice work, Lewwyn!
You even managed to save our super outlaw who hits everyone, every time. We really should give him a unique name.
Lots of trolls dead, the green units have almost disappeared from the map. We need to watch out that eliminating all the green units does not put the green king back in positive income where he can recruit more trolls.
But if we can continue the slaughter and keep our units healthy, hopefully we will clear the main mass of trolls and can then start advancing and claiming villages while we move to eliminate another troll leader (or two, or three). I do not know what the story is with our two allies, maybe they will show up at some point and help?

I spread the line out alot. To protect and outlaw that was about to die (it was the super outlaw) I sent forward a 50 hp fugative to where the black rock thrower is.
That outlaw got double hit killed by a 25 damage STRONG troll. So I am pissed that should never have happened. Then the rock thrower came in and lobbed on him to death in one hit. Sorry this all happened the last turn and the trolls got lucky TWICE. Oh they killed the two white mages twice in the same turn.

Oh well. Luck went our way a couple times earlier, not surprising we got some bad luck also.
Looks like green is in fact recruiting more troops, as I worried. And the others will also with their troops dead. But with the vast majority of the initial horde of trolls wiped out, we can start advancing. Kill the remaining leaders, and claim a bunch of villages and get some income ourselves as we go. Hopefully this one is mostly mopping up from this point.

Turns played, we are down to mopping up. Unless there is a scripted event, which is quite possible of course.
Killed a bunch more trolls, managing to get kills for Bruindane and a couple other units which are not yet maxed out. Started moving the main group of units towards green to finish off the king, but it was slow going as we cleaned up the last few trolls to remove their ZOCs. I have also started grabbing villages with dwarves in the south and center, and also my wraith avatar. We need to keep this up, both to deny the enemy income and also to get some going for ourselves in case we need it.

eh, later than I thought, but here now
Killed green first turn... Lich just absolutely decimated the King.
Started moving south, collecting villages, found the elf army that came to help the princess! They are all level one except for the captain, but the trolls tried to run away. I chose to make them stay. I could have ended the scenario, but we wanna kill some more no?
Elf pic:
Just go kill em.
