And a new turn!
Fishfood finished the spear and started on a Forge. Good production there.
Hey! Where did the huge stacks go? Mackoti and Luddite made peace...
Okay, had a long chat with Locke and he is NOT happy about the city placement. Then again, we knew that! Not going to back down and we'll see what happens. He keeps mentioning Plako and working together against him, then when we do something that he doesn't like, he says it's hard to stay friends.... he tells me we sign a long NAP and then settle beyond our span of control, while we didn't even knew of that island and our settling plans, while he does the same and settles Vandal north of our border as well.... troublesome guy... now we need to make sure we have a huge army up north...
Oh yeah, Locke said LP wasn't a threath in this game due to his slow tech rate and not using Slavery. Don't think he is right there....
Well, IW done next turn, onto Calender (Rego has it already, I think, or he founded ON sugar) and then to Feudalism (we need LB's everywhere) and CS to get even better teching.
Feel free to take a look and end turn. Maybe you can even read my in-game chat to Locke, but I don't think so.

Still need Calendar to connect the resource, even if you have a city on it.
I have to run.

Can't read the in-game chat re: Locke, but he can screw himself if he thinks he's entitled to that spot. We'll just have to get a 2nd settler there faster. Did some minimal tile micro and hit enter. Not sure if there's any other whipping we need to do, but we should do it at the beginning of next turn and then switch to HR/Caste to pop borders next turn.
EDIT: Watch EPs with Locke. If he goes to increase on us next turn, be sure to shift to him.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

And another turn! Score wise, we moved into fifth place, looking up as we go along. Fifth in MFG, Food and soldiers as well.
Here's the screen that meets me when I login:
Looks like our tech rate is pretty decent! Only 9t for CS at 50%.... Calender first, though in 4t.
Helluland finished a Market and will build a Forge now.
Paradise founded:
WB connected the clams and it started on a Granary.
Galley with another Axe-Settler pair is in place to found the next city there:
We could settle ON the Rice to get all land tiles in play there...
Confu spread to Vinland with a missionary.
We got tech visibility on Rego (HBR), Luddite is still on Currency (2t), so I switched EP's to SleepingMoogle.
Left the whipping and civics change to you, Gaspar. Don't know if we want to whip anything. We might want to think about getting a few more settlers out for our main land cities...

Had a minute to look at this so did. Nice work on cutting Locke off from the rest of the Island. We'll need to get a Confu missionary to Paradise short-sharpish, so as to stave off the cultural battle. Locke already had a missionary at his site before we settled, so he'll have that benefit shortly.
We can't settle on the Rice, there's no other food there, and Locke took the only path to irrigating anything with the Pigs site. Ultimately, the second city isn't going to be anything more than mediocre, but its important as another production source on the island.
What you failed to mention in your update was the scarcity of Iron. We have none in our current cultural borders. That will be... an issue when Guilds comes around, so I suggest we get this site settled... yesterday:
Ironically, the Iron also makes it a much more attractive settle, since it now adds a bit of a production boost to the food from the corn. I think unquestionably the next settler has to go there. I also like the idea of getting Horse city settled before our Locke-NAP expires, in the event of hostilities with him, not letting him cut our horses would be nice. Locke's Iron, unlike ours, is in a much better position. Honestly, this damned map makes us work for everything. I hate you, Krill. Not as much as I hate myself for choosing Asoka of the Vikings, or for being a mediocre Civ player, but I still do hate you.
Decided to 2-pop whip the Forge in Vinland, I queued a Market for afterwards, though it could just as easily be a Settler. Also whipped the Market in Riverland, as it will regrow one of the pop next turn, and right back onto the cottage, overflow into a Forge, I guess. Not really sure what to do with it, tbh. After that, revolted to HR/Caste. All the whipping brought us back under luddite in score, sorry if that was important to you.
I think I'd probably switch Vinland or Riverland to a Settler after regrowth. I think we want the Iron/Corn city settled within 5 turns, just for the options, and probably aim to get the Horse/Clam site within 10. After that, we can go back to pushing economy only for a while.
That's about that. Ended turn as well.

Indeed, I completely forgot to look at the Iron. Let's call that city Ironic, ok?
Good thing is that it's defensible and on a hill.
Agree, we need to get 2 more settlers out soon. Greenland can build the missionaries for other cities (nothing better to build while growing).
I think our border with Plako is easier to defend then our border with Locke... interesting! Everyone is pushing hard to take actions against Plako who has more land then everyone... or so they say... not to sure about that yet...
Now, what we need to discuss is GP's. Do we want to go for another GScientist or do we need a GMerchant?. Do we want to bulb something worthwhile? Or build another academy? Do a trade mission? Don't know what is best, but we can look up bulb-order.

Well, Gaspar, what do you say from this:
Quote:Hi again. As I said in conversation yesterday we are not to happy with Paradise location. But I know you have to expand and we want to keep your team as friends. Feel over here is that if we fight then we just hand game to other teams. So we are willing to let this go and not be an issue. If you would be willing to send us one of two dyes from that city we would be happy.
You said yesterday that NAP end date with us and plako is not far apart. We have turn 175 and you have turn 160 with plako I think. I know it is a litte crazy but we can extend further if you want. Past turn 175. We are happy to wait until later also. If you want more security with us then we are fine with extending deal longer. I have said many times I am worried most about plako. I make offer in case you feel the same way.
I guess that is all for now. You take exact spot where we wanted to settle. Paradise is good name LOL.

I think its important that when we reply we make sure he realizes that:
1. His claim to the area is no better than ours.
2. There's no logic to him believing that because he planted a city there, he gets all the cities there.
3. We haven't fought him in any way, we're just protecting our chances in the game.
I agree with Locke that someone needs to take plako down a peg. Unfortunately, everyone wants someone else to do the taking plako down, nobody wants to do it themselves. Well... I don't want to do it either. What we need to do is tech to an actual fighting unit and take it from there, but we need to ensure a stable economy first. As far as a NAP with Locke... I'm not giving him Dyes for peace. If he wants to trade something for them, sure, but I'm not giving them to him. Those will be valuable in trade, there aren't a lot of Dyes on the map. Otherwise... well I think by T200 we need to be fighting someone. If that's plako, fine. If its Locke, also fine. But it can't be both. Oddly, I don't trust either, really. But I'm not sure plako even needs any more land to win the game. We do. I guess I'm saying I have no idea.
Re: GSci - If we could bulb Education, that would be useful. It could also be useful to pop a GA.

Also, we need more dedlurkers. rego et al have 15k more page views than we do. plako, luddite, those I understand, as they've had lots of war. But rego? His game has been as mundane as ours. Damn you lurkers, damn you to hell!
