They had wandered so very far in this strange new world. The two Wanderers had come from a very different world, a world of flying metal birds called 'planes', where wars were fought with musketballs and airstrikes. Not magic.

These two had wandered for so long in this waste, a waste created from their own lack of knowledge. This place was literally a hell. One of the wanderers would call it the hell of Noobiness, ruled by the god, Noobus Saibottis.

But when finally these noobs began to give up hope, a radiant figure (like the sun, only brighter) appeared offering guidance. All they had to do in return was rule a nation, and protect it from the Tyranny of the gods. The figure could not do so, due to his personal beliefs.

So it came to be that Mackoti and Acalostas would rule a nation under the guidance of their wise and benevolent teacher.

When they learned that this great being was the Archangel of Balance, they were stunned that he was not an angel of Lugos, so radiant was he.

The beginning of an empire that would either endure the coming darkness, or burn with the other empires, in the apocalypse that each race would inadvertantly bring about. That is all that can come of worshipping the gods.

So the fate of the world rests in the hands of two noobs, and their wise teacher, Iliossiel...

So you guys want to know about me then?

...

No?

...

well, too bad.

It's quite possible that i am the most Noobie one in this game. When i first played Civ4, i didn't really like it. I admit it. It just seemed that all of the civs were so similar, and that no matter what happened each game, we'd always end up with the same techs by the end. So to this day, i probably have about 5 civ4 games under my belt.

And none of them have been completed shhh bang
so expect some smoke

Now ffh on the other hand, i have played a fair bit. won several games against the AI. i know all the armageddon events. i'm fairly well familiar with the tech tree. i generally have a decent knowledge of what not to do in a game.

So why am i in a noob game you might ask? becuse i have some bad habits i need to break out of.

first is the farmers gambit, i never have enough military when i need it. shhh

and second, i have a hard time with getting new cities on time. for some reason, i tend to leave my settler production until my capitals population is about pop 18.

this is bad nono

i know i should expand when it's about 5-6, but i can't help myself. Most of my games end up being OCC, completely unintentionally (to be fair though, i still usually win against the AI.)

So Mackoti and Ilios, if it seems like i've forgotton to expand, just hit me with a fish splat

So, if what you want to see out of this game is dumb screw-ups, and lot's of smoke, this may be the thread for you! lol

Edit: you know, i'm really nervous. I wish this game would start, because i'll feel better then.

I'll try my best not to disappoint anyone, lurkers and Teammates alike. thanks guys, thanks for having me.

About expanding, no concern there, in Bts is my strong point .We will play with ragging barbs? That could be a problem until we get our first explorer(forgot the name).
So Ilois what you think you can go worker first with ragging barbs?

Raging Barbarians got voted down in the Start up thread to my knowledge... At the very least it's not enabled in the map! So No Worries in that regard.

Enjoying the thread! At least being map-spoilt means I can read everyone's. Expect your starting location today and the map to be completed tomorrow. (This could be me being optimistic...)

Dedlurker checking in!

A couple of quick points:

- We start in the Pacifism Civic, so we'll need to switch to Nationhood on T0 to avoid getting the hammer malus. I suggest we use the turn of Anarchy to find a great capital site (would be nice to have the Super Settler bonus in that case).

- Adventurers: we'll get the first one around T13-14. What are the plans with them?

- We're Philosophical, so it might be a good idea to prioritise Mysticism for the dirt cheap Elder Councils

Worker first is dangerous in FFH, even with normal barbs. But if we can found on a hill, and keep the starting Warrior very close, I think we should be able to pull it off.

Well in my testing games i upgraded him to a warior(ye its costing some money), but its very eficient against barbs with all the free experience which he is getting.

About what researching first, i think beter to see the start first and after decide.
