The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed.
I tried method #4 and 14 nukes wasn't even close to making Louis give up a city. At that point I decided to stop wasting time and take out India instead, but I am pretty sure that amount of production I'd have to invest into nukes to force Loius to give up a city would be at least comparable to the amount of production I invested into additional forces to defeat India.

I did 38 nukes (all over the France) ![]() SDI was intercepting most of the missles I tried to starve the cities but nuclear fallout was dissapiring too fast. I had took down French influece in one of their cities to 87% but Lui still was not giving it away ![]() I tried to destroy wonders with nukes - no results

In my game, two methods actually worked to get troops into (and out of) the mountain wall.
The first, which I did not figure out right away, is the declare peace (close/open borders) method. The first time this occured in my game (but I did not clue into it until reflecting after the game was over), was when France and Italy were fighting, France used this method to get one (or more) ships outside the wall, which caused him to harrass Gandhi (and discover me), which made France Gandhi's worst enemy for the rest of the game. Then, much later, Gandhi declared peace with France, after landing a massive force (70+ modern troops), on the land outside the wall. The force ended up inside the wall, in Italy, which was useful because France had taken an Italian city, so I could have done the same thing, and won easily that way, but I felt that was violating Siran's intent, so I did not pursue that method. The method I ended up using in the end, even though it was not necessary for victory, was to use subs. Based on what happened to me this game, I think the 'cost' that the AI places on a war, and the price he will pay for peace, is based at least in part by his unit losses (or war wariness, which is much the same thing). Using subs, I could harrass his navy, killing ships, and watch his offer for peace go from 800 gold, to eventually over 10k gold (some 200+ kills later), and then to the point France offered me a city. I did not really need to do this to win (I was already at 67.5% land area, and slowly climbing), but it probably did save me about 50-100 end turns, and was a lot more fun! -I Iustus3 Wrote:when France and Italy were fighting, don't mix this up with the world cup final! ![]()
